Putz with four 30+ save seasons, barely over 3 ERA, and 138 ERA+ across 12 seasons with only 1 AS game is kinda crazy

Once again suggesting “unique first names” as a theme. Players who are the only MLB players with their first name. Adeiny Hechavarria, Lastings Milledge, Yasmani Grandal, etc.

Man Hard really threw me for a loop for a while, but then I thought about the theme and it eventually came to me. Good job to BBD building on his third place lead. Here's hoping out he can catch Jake and Max. Still hoping for a round of 90s All-Stars

3/3 and trivia. Back to back ASG stories for medium and hard players here. I always think of medium for his huge triple off Hoffman in the 9th in 2006. Hard is interesting for 2007: So the Tigers are facing his Mariners right after the ASG that year, so AL manager Jim Leyland makes a point to put Mr. Hard out there extra long by pitch count so Seattle is less likely to have him available immediately after.

Dude totaled -10.4 dWAR… that’s pretty bad-slightly worse than Jeter (-9.4 dWAR). One year with dWAR above 1.0. Eight years of below average dWAR. That’s bad. For comparison’s sake, Jeter was just a better hitter and played for longer, which is what separates his 71.3 WAR from Young’s 24.7.

I can’t stand how baseball reference annotates positions. Just use letters for crying out loud!! P=Pitcher, C=Catcher, 1B=1st Base, etc. It’s not like there would be any duplicate letters doing it this way, so that’s no excuse. 😤😤😤
