It is impressive that you didn't run away from that machine. The original 2653 was much easier to work on, the 2653A is a nightmare to service. The 2653B has a bit more room around the engine, but still a mess to service. You did really well on troubleshooting the fuel system. Typically on any of those models, the pickup tube in the tank is rusted... Holy if you will... due to there being no drain port at the bottom of the tank to remove sediment and water. Adding the electric fuel pump was inspired, nice touch, but consider finding a switched power bus to tap into (definitely add a 15A fuse). The hour meter only works when the engine is running. Should you run into an mystery fuel problem at the engine, before pulling the injectors, check out the injection pump inlet (from the lift pump to injection pump). Due to the 90 degree angle, it is amazing how much stuff makes it past the filter. I'll stop. Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to post this and again, you did a fantastic job on it!

I have a 2653A that will turn over but not fire. At this point I have had the injectors out and changed the fuel filter. I feel maybe it is not primed?

You're awesome!!! How did you bypass the fuel shutoff solenoid??? I had mine burn up today! Melted the solenoid around the wires and couldn't figure out how to disengage the hydrostat until u watched this video. Thank you!!!

As I was driving mine to load on a trailer after having sold it the mechanical fuel pump died. It looks darn near impossible due to its location to replace. Not knowing how to put it the free wheel mode and wanting to get it back in my yard I installed an electric fuel pump and was very pleased to be able to drive it back. At this point I think I will forget about replacing the mechanical fuel pump as the electric pump is much easier to replace and less expensive to purchase.

Glad to see kids outside working on things other than video games, but in my opinion that tractors way over priced I was thinking about 1 to 1.5 K, considering the fact that This can only be sold to basically golf courses and things like that, you cannot moa residential lawn with this because if it is not mowed on time very strictly it will clog up and all the blades and dull them out , also was the hydraulic fluid filter changed? Seems like that would be kind of important on this hydrostatics also the paint you applied will probably not last that many years considering that the paint was not scuffed / or brought to bare Metal. also I really hope you didn’t leave those alligator wire jumpers in there?

The price is reasonable for new England. I saw a 7.3 ford for sale and is 24k and if you think that is bad there is also a case 580 super k for about 26k.

I would never leave any jumper wires in a machine. I fixed all the electrical issues properly. The engine alone is worth 1k.

I ran into that issue. The diagrams are only available to dealers. I knew a guy at dealer who sent me a few photos of the diagram but I don't think I have them anymore.

i have a 2653a and i am not getting fuel to the injectors and i’m hoping it’s not the injector pump…so you have any suggestions on how to diagnose the problem

A few things you can check. Do it in this order. 1. Crack line to injector pump to see if getting fuel 2. Check to make sure shut of solenoid is activating when key is turned to start and stays activated when key in run. 3. Check to see if injector lines are clogged 4. remove and rebuild pump
