Talbot Alpine! Genuinely excellent cars. My mum had a Series 1 in maroon complete with factory twin carbs. Swish motor on the whole! I'd love an Alpine, or rarer a Solara or rarest of them all, a Tagora. Great video, subbed!

Never is that E reg cav done only did low mileage in that scrap yard I had a sri back in the 90s couldn't believe the cars sat in that farm I would to have another Sri or that gsi sat at that farm good to see a young lad doing a retro one is it the standard 1.6 a old boy on my estate has a g reg same body as yours but auto which is starting to go in the normal places for rot on them I would buy that but he won't sell it but he wants me to do the welding on the sills for him as I've been welding as a job for 25 years yours will be worth it when you finished 👍

mine is a 1.8, i was planning on swapping a 2.0 8v into it but i’ve got my V6 Calibra for going fast, i’m also a welder (unfortunately) 😂

@@jude6kv can't remember much to what me and my mates did to it but it was a cheap ghetto conversion, we put a copper decompression plate, rising rate fuel pressure regulator i think c20let injectors, homemade log manifold with t3 turbo while still on standard ecu. Probably other stuff as well but can't remember it was nearly 15yr ago. One thing i do remember was it torque steering like fuck when boost come while banging and popping flames 😂. My mate did a similar set up his 205 gti and he still has to this day

Put the V6 calibra in will take a bit more work but there would not be alot of difference with putting the 2L 8v to the engine you already got in the car don't knock being a welder saves you alot of money and myself being a welder fabricator I've made good enough money as a job and still do not saying it's as good as years ago when I started mate

the v6 suits the calibra better for sure, quite happy with the 4 pot 8v in the cav as a daily driver, if i can find an seh130 engine then i’d definitely put one in but they’re hard got these days!

@@jude6kv don't matter wat it suits will go great putting that in but better if you can get the best 16v 20L red top or get that gsi from that farm and put everything on yours I'm not a vauxhall expert I'm more in to fords than vauxhalls but would say no to a retro one for a project but nothing is cheap for anything wat I would like
