I love the idea of rescuing it rather than throwing it out. I vote rescue

I use it as a learning experience.... sometimes you learn a lot more from someone's mistakes. Not that i would wish it on anyone ...but its has much value in my eyes.

Just realized I’ve been watching your videos for over 1 year now and this is my very 1st comment. I guess tank crashes do increase views and get the peeps commenting Lol btw I just setup my 1st reef tank (120 gallon) and I’m rewatching a ton of your videos for all those good gems of advice. Keep at it!!💯💯

Good job girl! Worth saving. Can’t tell what lights are on there. If you can tune em to all blue. Or mostly blue. That will do wonders. Lights look white. White grows a bunch of algae. IMHO.
@DreamStateLivingАй бұрын
im not sure their light schedule but good idea -- also may have them off a few days, gonna see where this gets us!
@deciduusАй бұрын
@@DreamStateLiving I'd be careful cause the white light growing algae is helping to eating a TON of phosphates and nitrates being produced by the dead material, if you turn whites off it eats less then that goes higher until all the decay is gone. personally I'd say leave lights consistent, grow some algae, then boost the CUC to handle it; more emerald crabs, cerith snails, trochus, small conch, hermit crabs, **NARCISSUS SNAILS EAT DEATH/detritus**. Adding shrimp, amphipods, pods may help too if algae becomes overwhelming, paired with manual removal is effectively a way to remove all those excess nutrients in the form of algae as it consumes them.

I think most peoples point who were telling you to tear it down and start over is that your going to be battling die off for a very long time now. You can change the water as much as you want, it'll bring the salinity back and check. However that tank went so far south there are a ton of dead biological in those rocks that will be feeding problems in the future for a long time. But if you like challenges, I'm here for the ride lol
@DreamStateLivingАй бұрын
alll aboarddddd! lol I hear you though -- gonna give it a go and just make adjustments as I see what is/isn't helping and move forward!
@THEFIFTHDIMENTIONАй бұрын
That light needs to be lower and bluer to help with algae and the corals are gonna be fine

I have ample experience keeping a tank healthy (or keeping it healthy in spite of me), and though I have experience with disaster fires, its far less. Tank seam giving out, quarantining for myself/others which is often a can of worms, recouping other hobbyists systems, bobbit worm... Missing out on an oppurtunity to expand my toolset to dig through if something should happen seems unwise.

I hear you! I try my best to work through things!

Big Difference from before, Id definitely kill the light schedule for a day or two. basically starve out the bad algae
@DreamStateLivingАй бұрын
thanks! little by little, yup it is in a lights off mode right. Did about 2/3 days to see how that goes.
@AdamBomber15Ай бұрын
I think it’s definitely savable. What I would do is add a lot of clean up crew. The algae will grow faster than 3 snails can manage. Also get some flow going in that tank that will keep the rocks and corals free from detritus.
@suneeshkachrooАй бұрын
Absolutely get the maxx flow so that all the detritus gets out and caught in the mechanical filter and clean mechanical filter every second day .

New here what cause the tank to crash and very satisfying watching you clean the sand
@DreamStateLivingАй бұрын
Hi! Not sure exactly, but most likely a mix of a bunch of things. They had to move away and it was just not maintained too well after that.
@bryantehrat6457Ай бұрын
@DreamStateLiving gotcha Sunday I pick up a tank that in close to the same condition the people lost interest in it I'm a try and save it ... 32g bio cube 🤞
