I still say ding. Last night I said ding 28. Someone told me the seeking group shout was a quick way of saying ding, but to me it creates confusion. That's supposed to be for LFG.

I played EQOA for years and I can confirm people did the looking for group shortcut, typically in group chat to signify leveling up. Idk man, this one doesn't annoy me much cause I do it myself, probably not in shout chat though cause it could get confused.

Yeah in group it made sense. Never seen anyone shout it though unless they were legit LFG. This is just my attempt to stop the confusion lol.

I never seen anyone doing that during my time at all. In GROUP yes. . . with server wide chat it's stupid and causes confusion AND arguments lol. People made macro's for DING when i played on CLW. Also, other people have complained on Sandstorm about it. Maybe this was a thing on another server or after i left. But this was not a thing i personally remember.

They even don’t do that in P99 EverQuest so I understand your frustration. When people say they are Seeking group the person will receive a tell

@@EQOAnostalgia They use to do it on CLW however, it was primarily in groups or guild chat AND the grouping system was in place. Pre-grouping system, no, not many people used that macro to signify they leveled up. Now since there aren't many groups or any guilds, they probably wanted to share it with others via shout. I would just ask Supernova, they are probably in the Discord, or playing the game. Not only did we say ding, but also mini-ding.

No, that's just dumb. Why would you use it that way? So now if I'm really looking for people to level with, I have to decipher if people are leveling or really looking for a group? That is just stupid. I have never heard of that. If people are using it that way that's not an EQOA thing.

@@Izmolio1 Precisely. With chat being server wide it makes no sense. But mostly we just said DING! In every instance that i have seen people that shout LFG on Sandstorm, they are legit looking for a group and CG is responded back with "?" or "No dude, i'm actually LFG lol" or my favorite "stop saying that shit!" lol. It's petty i realize, but it's annoying af. Also yeah, mini ding! 🤣

Its a sandstorm thing since shout is global... and population is low and people not really grouping.

I do remember the lfg macro in group chat for leveling instead of saying ding but idk about shout. I've been seeing people using the macro in my short time playing on this server and it's because they are actually looking for someone to group with.
