I've worked for some amazing women in Government, they were much better at Director jobs than the men in similar roles. The difference was that the women approached the role as empowering and supporting their team. They had our backs and allowed us to do our jobs in a highly political environment and I appreciated their approach. They were also very empathetic to respecting our personal and family lives outside of work. None of them took the alpha approach to their jobs.
