No. This is misinformation. The hydrants in urban areas are not designed to combat massive wildfires burning through tens of thousands of acres. They are designed with domestic fires in mind, meaning it is natural that there is a lack of water. With the fires covering so much ground there is a massive demand for water, which would be hard for any area to fulfil, however, this is further worsened in the case of LA, because of the effects of climate change which are responsible for severe droughts. The summer in LA last year was also very warm and dry. As for the equality thing - the woman in the video was obviously mistaken. You are right, Douglas, you want a competent fire fighter to show up, no matter their race, gender or sexual orientation, main thing is they can do the job and are equipped to do so.

​@blair3264 Did you not take 5 minutes to check whether what you were saying was correct or not ? The hydrants were dry because the reservoir closest to palisades was bone dry. They ran out of water almost immediately. Why was it dry you may ask ? Because over a year ago they decided to repair the cover on it and due to mismanagement/ lack of urgancy/ incompetence the work STILL NOT BEEN DONE, and therefore coming into the SECOND fire season, had not been refilled. Every other fire chief across the country who was interviewed about that, was left scratching their head, and stated "that would have been a matter of urgency and we would never have allowed there to be no water for that long". There were also over 100 fire trucks across the LA area, again through mismanagement, lack of urgency, appropriation and/or redirection of funds or incompetency, were not available to use because they required some form of maintenance. The natural habitat in which it started had also not had a decent burn off for some time with record rains/growth the season before last. So no, just no to almost everything you said.

Water pressure was low, one reservoir was out of commission leaving only two that weren’t in full, then you have interview with a firefighter who said several fire hydrants he came across weren’t operational. California choose to vote in a Democratic governor and Democratic House Representives, and Senators whose policies have been DEI and sanctuary cities instead of Republican leaders whose president Elect ran on America First. Californians elected their leaders choosing to bring back into office those who had already proven were more concerned with protecting illegal immigrants than the American Way of Life. Californians now condemn their leaders choices, complaining that Newsom spent 228 billion towards illegals and the homeless crisis, the Mayor slashing the fire department by 17.5 million, and Fire department’s DEI hiring but that is what the democrats have been pushing for the last decade. By voting for them, Californians were agreeing to those things, their votes stating that was the direction they wanted their leadership to focus on. And now Californians are surprised. The situation is tragic but you get what you vote for. Stop blindly voting along party lines, believing all media, look to a variety of sources and discern based on past action of those running for office.
