Beautiful editing and great concept for many people in testing what would be better for them. The only thing I would recommend for videos of this style would be putting the switches for comparison in the same location on the keyboard. Overall wonderful video!

Glad you enjoyed the video! :) I 100% agree with using the same sockets for the testing, definitely something I will test if I remake the video in the future.

frankly if you apply enough lube in the bag, bag lubing just work fine if you shake the bag more enough. but problem being that bag lube will make the stem very messy and get lube all around the place where you dont wanna lube, and bag lube waste a lot of unnecessary lube but its very convenience way to lube switch given that you dont mind to waste twice the lube and all your keycap will get lube on their butt then bag lube work just fine
@alexandernoble48313 жыл бұрын
You're right - quite frankly, this isn't something i'd probably ever do in an end game build, but for the purpose of testing a few linear switches quickly, it served its purpose. The consistency of lube between the switches won't be on point, and, as you mentioned, there will be lube in places where typically one wouldn't cover with a brush. Interesting test to carry out anyways, and will hopefully serve a purpose to someone who's really in a rush to get switches lubed 🤣

question, is there a reason in lubbing springs?
@alexandernoble48313 жыл бұрын
Yes, it helps remove spring ping. If the switch actuation/mechanism is activated rapidly, a small metallic ringing sound can sometimes be heard. Lubing the springs helps remove that.

Why don't you use the oil to bag lube the stems? I've tried it for the gateron black inks and i think it's fine. Not only do you save a plastic bag, you're less likely to over-lube and have an uneven lube job.

I have one big question, is the bag lubing inconsistent??
@alexandernoble48313 жыл бұрын
You'll never be able to get it as consistent bag lubing compared to hand lubing with a brush - there's just no way to ensure each stem is getting an equal coating in a bag being shaked. But... At the end of the day, after a few hundred key presses, most of lube will be evened out anyways so inconsistency should not become a huge issue when bag lubing (not that it really was a huge issue in the first place with my tests run). Just my two cents 😁👍

Read more for more info below ℹ - Bonus points if you spot the zxcvbnm in the video! You'll know what I mean when you see it ;) I thought the performance of bag lubing was surprisingly quite good to be honest, at least for the amount of time it shaved off. What do you think? Do you notice any difference? Have a preference? Let me know! I think I will be hand lubing the rest of my NK creams in the near future as I have the time to do so, but having said that - if you're in a rush or time constrained, give bag lubing a shot! Just as a side note for this video; This should not be done for tactile switches, unless you're looking to remove some, if not all the tactility, as it is advised that the legs should not be lubed. Different lubes will work aside from Krytox 205g0. It may even work better with a thinner lube, such as Krytox 105. I know MrKeebs did a video using a blend of Krytox 105 & 205 which you can check out below. Experiment and see what works for you! I primarily run tactiles (Bobas, holy Bobas, sp-stars, holy pandas, hako royals) and have actually bag lubed all my stems for these as well. If you're going to bag lube tactile stems, go for a thinner oil to avoid reducing the tactility as much. Also obviously sharper tactile switches will preserve more tactility through bag lubing

@@WTFA54 I just got some bobas, sp-stars, black jaes and polias in. Got to say i've really been enjoying the tactile switches atm. Will have to give bag lubing a try with some thin oil if you've had success 😁

@@alexandernoble4831 yup! I've been having good results with a mix of superlube (ISO 100-150) and Krytox VPF 1514. I tested a mix of GPL 105 and GPL 103 and i think the GPL 105 is a bit too thick for tactiles. Hope that helps and enjoy the tactiles!
