Anton, I've been doing heavy isometrics for tendon strength. That same spot that's hurting on your elbow has bothered me for than a decade. It's been getting steadily better over the course of the last few months. I started out with a weight I could hold for 4 seconds (so, around 1rm max), and I've progressed up to 10 seconds at that same weight. I'm very careful - no swinging, no shock loading. I start the weight exactly in position. I don't lift it into position. I need at least a day between attempts or pain gets worse instead of better. This seems to be the magic sauce for me. Maybe it will work for you.

One of the most frustrating injuries in climbing. I remember overcoming this issue with simple pull-ups by reaching the point of max pain (about 90º bend) and holding for several seconds. I had to stop climbing for some time however, as it hurt too much, and my performance dropped significantly. The most important in any recovery is the control of motion. No overloading! (i.e. no hard bouldering/climbing) or you lose all the progress and make it worse and harder to recover.

7:11 the torsion between the middle and ring fingers is massive, and based on his size his fingerpads are probably rather long making the 20mm edge on a standard Tension Block feel quite small and further reduce force output. Plus, trying to flex through the PIP joints when he trains MCP flexion seems unnecessary. Would retest on a larger edge and nonspecific grip position.

Hey Anton! You can do far better for Eccentric Hand Pull! Because of the momentum. Just check the gripping angle of Alex(check 20:01), he grabs the Eccentric Handle in a larger angle(it means perpendicular distance between his hand and center of the grip is shorter), but you grab it almost 90 degrees (it is angle of the largest momentum) . Just a small physics things. 🤣

Right its nice to watch a video like this and be able to match or beat athletes like these. I'm 155lbs just started grip and I can max out the same dynamometer their using. I used to be really strong especially pound for pound just from working in high-school but injuries slowed me down but now I've been trying to get back into it, more so for armwrestling. I also can wrist curl 90lbs for reps and 65-70lbs so far w that last lift but mines a 2x4 board handle I made haha I also used a scale to see what the true weight was off the pulley system I made its a single pulley so it's actual weight. I need to get that finger tip handle for rock climbing that seems hard, I'm guessing that's what your talking about matching him with?
@gump36111 ай бұрын
I’m curious how the cupping strength they talk about would translate to crack climbing (and vice versa)
@M0dElite11 ай бұрын
I would think it's a bit different kind of cupping that you need in arm wrestling than in cup jams, as in arm wrestling the wrist is flexed where as in jams the wrist is mostly in a neutral angle, but would be definitely interesting to see. I'm thinking these guys are probably very strong with slopers.

Older machine design didn’t take this into account and the resistance could be only 50# or so. One way to find out is to use crane scale to test it. The reason i ask is i just want to be sure how my numbers compare to yours. I’m happy to see that my forearm measured about same size as yours, though i love to see it grow bigger

What muscle are mainly working in the last exercise? To me it looked like having strong latissimus or being good in onearm pullup would help and i think anton is pretty decent in this stuff.
@jakobstisen636611 ай бұрын
Its not really about onearm pullups in this one as the biceps has not real role here pulling something down, other than adjusting the position of the arm. The whole movement is about dragging weight back, but with a normal spinning handle the hart part is to keep the weight in place with downpressure and the wrist should not be a problem if you are okay strong in your wrist. I do well in this movement. But when using the handle they have there is now about downpressure, wrist, but now also fingers. So it become more about if you try and use the wrist to much there will be put to much pressure on the fingers and then you cant move the weight and if you only try to focus on the fingers your wrist will open up and then you cant move the weight. If there is anything I think is weird about the handle is that you lift more if you are good at using the middle finger, where in armwrestling its normally more about the Index finger to get a good starting grip and Pinky to protect the hand from opening up.
