How did you get ceaseless to grab on to the ledge after dying to him? i thought that was impossible

If you fail the first time you have to run ALL THE WAY BACK to the other side (where you pick up the armor) and then if you run back to the gate from there he can grab onto the ledge! It's way tougher tho bc hes mad at you at the start
