Other than every time you said “gronak” almost giving me an aneurysm, this was a great video. I don’t think I’ve ever done a melee play through of Fallout 4 without using power armor or without also using some kind of long ranged weapon.

What you didn't know? That's Gronak's specialty! Gronak's origin story started out as him stealing the identity of Grognak, realized the ID missed the "g" and thus Gronak is born. He uses this name to cause aneurysms all around because how evil he truly is.

Playing as Grognak was my first themed playthrough! As you're always taking damage it pairs really well with the time slow on low life legendary effect and the protector of arcadia perk so you have crazy damage reduction! Gives that sorta barbarian rage effect on low life (: also awesome video as always !!

This build must of taken FOREVER to level up. For a more powerful and less time consuming build use this. S:4 P:1 E:7 C:7 I:7 A:1 L:1 Use special book on charisma for 8 and get inspirational to make companions better. You’ll need Cait to pick lock for Grognaks Axe and Strong at max affinity gives +20% melee damage. Use codsworth early game, he’s a good damage sponge and does a lot of damage with his buzzsaw giving you better survivability than lone wanderer. Partyboy and chemist are very important. *fury* +50% melee damage *overdrive* 25% chance hit will be critical *bufftats* +3 STR +65hp *Psychobuff* +3 STR +3END +65 HP Dirty wastelanders +6 STR Over gameplay increase SPECIALS Pick health and resistance and damage perks. You should end with S:10 P:1 E:10 C:8 I:7 A:1 L:6 (this is without collecting any bobbleheads.) *Better criticals* works with *overdrive* and the damage achieved with this build is insane. Idiot savant can also boost levelling speed and offset negative intelligence from consumed alcohol. Add a Yaoi gui roast and it’s even more Insane. You’re welcome ❤

so glad you showed of the special book/bobble head trick. Note to others this work with any special. Basicaly the book checks your CURRENT not max special so if you take a chem/get withdrawn that lowers a stat, even if it was at 10, and use the book its now at 11, like wise the bobble head doesnt care what your base it and so yes if all starts are 10 and you getthe bobbles heads their now all 11, add the book trick and one can be 12. NOW another fun bit that you may or may not know InsaneFrame is that the Huboligist Brain scanner thing, works similarry incrashing your INTELIGENCE permantly. thus say you do the bobblehead/book trick to get 12 int and then do t he hubologist you could walk away with a base of about 25 int.

I've done this. For such a large and powerful melee weapon it uses surprisingly few AP. Combine it with Blitz and watch your enemies fall en masse.

Since this was a melee build, I thought for sure you would have done the Cabot quest at Parson's Insane Asylum so you could get your hands on 7 or 8 vials of that Mysterious Serum which gives you 50 damage resistance.

With out watching the video I am going to say yes, Yes you can, I know because it was how I beat Fo4 on survival difficulty, Grognak axe is amazing and the grognak armor is amazing Melee is one of the more OP builds in fo4, asking if you can beat it with melee is like asking can you beat Skyrim as a stealth archer.

I actually have an idea for a rum: Csn you beat Fo4 as a Vampire Only way of healing is the cannibal perk and favorised way of killing is the sandman perk, but I don't know about Armour and weapons(but it was just a idea anyway because you decide what you do for a video and I will watch it nomatter what challenge it is.

For future melee runs, yao guai roast is supposed to give you +10% melee damage but is bugged and gives you +500% melee damage and is stupid overpowered

Have you played Doom 1 or 2, doing Pistol Start? Where you don’t carry over any weapons, ammo or backpack. I was thinking about if something like that were possible. You have to offload everything (at certain points) and can only use what you find. Fo4 is not like Doom, with distinct, autonomous levels. So, maybe a fresh start each quest? Call it, “The Pistol Start Quests Run”.

10mm pistol uses minimal action points, especially if you upgrade it the right way. So if you make a VATS heavy build, especially with the perception 10 ability, it's quite powerful.
