I remember using the .308 holotape from Dead Money to stack myself to to brim with ammo for the Battle Rifle, and if I need repairs, the Weapon Repair Kit holotape had me covered. In short, you can easily break New Vegas' economy depending on what you find in Dead Money, and *that* could be the real treasure of the Sierra Madre.

Cool idea, but it might make for an anti-climactic video in NV since the hardest part would probably be to get through Vault 34 for the All-American (one of the strongest weapons in the game - at least in a proper VATS-build with the Grunt perk).

Oh, I'm _really_ looking forward to the next one! Dealing with the "wind up toy" of the Commonwealth Wasteland will be fun. I mean, it _is_ a decent weapon if you're patient and remember that it's a single-shot wonder, but like real muskets, it's a *pain* if you miss and have to wind it back up. I do tend to keep one on my characters just for emergencies, though. (I have a mod installed that makes turning the crank charge the weapon, so it _doesn't_ require ammo. Makes it way more useful as an emergency "oh, crap, I'm out of ammo!" gun.)

Yep, did that back when I first played the game. I was too new to the Fallout universe and all the high tech laser and plasma weapons just looked goofy to me, and as soon as I saw the Garand I knew that was going to be my weapon of choice until the end of the game.

@@Green-Raccoon777 You can also wait for merchants to restock, craft quite a bit of ammo (especially with Handloader) or use a sidearm for weaker enemies (or if you're running low on ammo).

Yes, using a gun and ammo requires using said gun and said ammo, you correctly noticed that - and ? It's not like any of this weighs several hundred pounds, even on hardcore. I'm a hoarder in F:NV myself, but you can quite easily cut down your carryweight when you have to (Honest Hearts without high Survival for example) and it's not an issue, even on hardcore.

In theory, yes The .308 is a heavy bullet and can definitely do some damage Carrying the Sniper Rifle with you, you would only need to worry about one ammo type

you could do an NCR-aligned Service Rifle run, and get the unique version from Honest Hearts, as well as the Elite Riot Gear from Lonesome Road

That's how I did it. Armed to the Teeth mod, I've got a full auto Survivalist Rifle, console command reload speed for Sleight of Hand and run speed, explosive carbon fiber AM SR, Lucky Revolver, and Stabhappy (?). Military motorcycle and Mercy w/ plasma rounds depending on mood. Arcade Gannon in his Tesla Armor scaled to FO4 proportions among other companions including Raul in USMC Desert Ranger w/ matching Gobi Camp SR and ED-E. Hardcore mode and spawning armguarded Airborne Combat Armor NCR troops and legion tent groups as targets. Worth trying for fun

I wondered if a challenge could be done with only survival crafted items. Only armors, healing, and weapons from campfires. Anything you need to get for crafting, you harvest or kill to get, but the items are for crafting only. If you can't make any weapons, you can use them fists of yours.

A battle rifle is a weapon based off of the M1 Garand. In my opinion, it's one of the best guns. I use it in most of my regular playthroughs

I started playing this game again recently and was using this for a while. It was pretty neat while I was using it, but it feels like it has some problems. Ammo is decently rare to find in bulk, but luckily I started the game with the idea to heavily use ammo crafting since I'd nevere tried it out before. It got replaced by the All American as soon as I could use it effectively.
