Whenever I play FFX I always think to myself, "This time I'll use Khimari and get all his overdrives and he'll be awesome"... Then I inevitably remember how annoying getting all his overdrives can be so I tell myself I'll get them later, then I just... Don't... And he just kinda gets sat on the bench.

Blue mages be convenient and fun to use would be a great challenge run for Square to try and undertake lol. What sucks the most is that like, blue mages are the coolest class in concept they just always feel awful to use compared to everyone else.

I knew Biran and Yenke wouldn’t be an issue because the whole point of them scaling to Kimahri means that their difficulty remains roughly the same no matter how strong your Kimhari is. There’s a guy on KZbin who does the fight with maxed out Kimahri and isn’t really any more difficult - if anything it’s easier.

a completely maxed out khimari just makes the fight take ages because even with everything having capped stats they dont break the damage limit on anything, they just have insane hp bloat. it is entirely possible to over level khimari though and make the fight impossible, all depends on how you level your khimari

@@Primalliquid92 To be honest I haven't seen any instance of someone levelling their Kimahri in such a way the fight becomes impossible and I'm not even sure how that would be done. I know the fight becomes ridiculously long when they have such high hp but I'm not sure how they would out-heal your damage. Either way, with a strong Kimahri I actually thought it became an easier fight, not more difficult.

@@nakodares5982 if you dont give him abilities then yeah the stats only leveling would make them impossible. but as long as you give Kimahri shell, protect and haste he cannot be defeated by those two.... could take for fcking ever though

@@godsplayingfield I feel like you'd have to actually try to make it impossible by skipping specific stat nodes too. Biran caps at 27 strength/11 magic and Yenke caps at 22 mag/13 strength (Happens after activating activating 2200 worth of HP nodes, so 11). I imagine you'd have to do something like hit exactly 2844 HP, max strength so you'd inflate their HP as high as you can after hitting the damage cap while leaving magic at base in order to minimize the HP lancet could absorb, and avoid any and all def/mdef nodes to take as much damage as possible. Even then, Biran gives you access to doom (20 count on both) so you avoid the whole damage sponge aspect by just focusing entirely on staying alive

Yeah leveling Kimahri too much just makes Biran and Yenke have a ton of HP. If you have the patience you can get him break damage limit with dark matter but that's 600 blitzball matches.

Woud it be very much easier if the other characters like Yuna would be allowed to defend all time since the enemies kill them? I like the cheese of not using items, but having access of 'Use'. It isnt using items with the item command, but personally I would still consider that using items lol! Either way, awesome video and kudos for the time and effort put into this! Among all the other crazy videos you make! Keep it up!

As a kid I used to use the game shark saves included with the disk on games to see how it would break them. Kimahris fight with Biran and Yanke becomes impossible if you use the game shark (v1.3 iirc) save states to max everyone. Biran and Yankes hp overflows making their total hp will be higher than max hp. 😂 pretty much locks you there since they won't go down haha.

I did this when i was a kid, basicaly i did Kimahri's grid then went into Yuna's grid to get the important spells, including Holy and then i went for Rikku's grid for mug and use. I also used combine a lot for zombie proof and other important effects. Having access to Holy really helps a lot.

I was a kid when i first played this and believed Khimari was the strongest character in the game based off of physical appearance alone. I ended up forcing Tidus off of his path and onto Khimari's... I couldnt make it past Evrae. Kinda funny seeing challenges with him

Khimari was my favorite as a kid, he looked so cool! Was a shame he ended up so weak with his path. The expert sphere grid greatly improved him, considering he can go down any characters path!

It always felt very unfortunate to me how Kimahri works in this game. The entire party is together for so much of it that he really doesn’t have a role that isn’t filled better by someone else readily available

This was, at one point, considered one of the hardest challenges for FFX, as he was one of the few characters whose Standard Sphere Grid wasn't quite enough to beat Overdrive Sin. But one person (I don't remember who) managed to beat it

Great video, nice editing! Honestly the only thing i am confused about is you being scared of the ronzo fight, since thats the only time you are supposed to solo. Sure they kinda match your stats but maybe i missed something? No item sure, but healing spells? I dunno. Anyway was really fun to watch.

Man I remember being terrified as a kid when I realized that I'd have to fight Biran and what's his name in Mt. Gagazet. I never liked Khimari, and therefore I hadn't paid any attention to him during my playthrough. To my surprise, I wasn't demolished by the two ronsos, and the fight was actually very enjoyable. Many years later I found out that their stats scale with Khimari.

I complete khimari’s grid then pop him onto tidus’ grid as I drop the +4 node for strength from blitzball and by the time I get to “home” at the al bed section he hits for 3k with piercing. Massively underrated (so long as you’re willing to grab one teleport sphere from blitzball, though to be fair if you put Yuna on Auron’s grid Bahamut can solo the game as soon as you get him)

It's funny, Khimari has always been a core member for me. The one I tend to never use is Rikku, who's just a mix-bot for harder encounters. If I even allow using Mix before post-game that is... It's the most busted tool you get access to as a player and it's not even close. XD It's probably also because of the fact that I always play on the Expert grid, so I usually end up making Tidus, and Khimari/Wakka cover the stealth abilities.

If i had to guess the run enders, it would be Evrae Altana, since you can't use khimari and items. But if you can't even reach there, i was also thinking about the robot that traps Yuna underwater!

I would assume the sections where you don't have Kimarhi in your party don't count. There's also the fight against the big bird when you drop into Bikanel Island and you only have Tidus, Auron and Lulu. Theres the underwater sections in Gagazet too.

Yunalesca = big big roadblock. And basically anything that counters with status magic anyhow as the furry fellow has trouble curing them. Well if it wasn't for the big grind you did earlier in the run, you would have had much more trouble xD

I did a solo Kimari run several years back and didn't have the restrictions you have. I remember that first Sinspawn fight on the boat seeming near impossible and the only way I got through it was instead of the other characters killing themselves, I had them defend. Still took a few tries so kudos there. It was on PS2 version so I think I opted for speed and healing so went Tidus and Yuna grids early on. Either way, too many close calls or outright grinding forever after a fight because of inability to win. I also did a solo Valefor run (you can only use Valefor when possible; leveled Yuna) and that was pretty rough as well. It was pretty fun and I got almost hard-stuck at the non-Valefor areas and had to abuse Mix/Use because there simply wasn't a way around it. And I recall Seymour being a pain and I think I was forced to find ways to one-shot him before he one-shot Valefor. I think I allowed myself to rotate aeons in those instances, because I seem to remember him just 1-shotting my entire roster of aeons. Fun times and was amusing at the end of the game when Yuna had to carry everyone.

It will be a slog But my first time running the Monster Arena was pretty close to solo'ed by Kimahri with Holy. I forget how far I got before I started training everyone else though, just that the original grind to cap magic in a Holy Battle against the Flan took eons (I believe he was the one that dropped magic). But that was because I did early Holy on him and had Kimahri just Holy spam the game to carry me through it lul.

I don't know whats so hard about this, just buy Manta Style, Heart, Disperser, Power Treads, Eye of Skadi, and Butterfly with consumed Agh Your Spirit Lance can probably 1v5 everything at that point! (if you know, you know)

I genuinely would be curious what possible build you could do that would make the Ronso fight impossible. Its always had the same relative difficulty regardless of how I build him, including a run where he was maxed at that point with item cheats. Really doesn't seem possible unless you intentionally only chose to activate like speed nodes but never defensive or offensive nodes.

Ever thought about doing a sort of soul link while playing a PC FF randomiser with another player? I do this with my flat mate at times.. Basically we save after every major boss and if 1 dies, we both reload to the last manual save 😅 P.s the OnlyFlans hoodie is my new favourite peice of clothing, very comfy 😊

A year back I actually did a full play through on my twitch with "Solo Khimari" but I did add in deathless, needless to say, certain spots needed rng, but other then that, two weeks and mission accomplished. Khimari is probably the easiest in my opinion, Auron on the other hand...that could be something. (edit) i now realize you did no customize.....ok...rough -claps- I think i spent 20 years in calm lands customizing gear.

Biran and yenke can never be "impossible to beat" as you state here. That would softlock the game. They are easy as hell whatever you do with kimahri.

i did a summon only run a year ago and valefor was my main summon i used. its due to majority of enemys in the early and mid game and some late just cant attack him. its a rather easy run. and sonic wing just breaks majority of the fights into your favo. if there are rules such as "cant progress yuna on the board" or "cant increase stats with the spheres" then i can see it being potentually being hard. now cheating in yojimbo and just using him that can be a challange since you have to pay him. and he cannot heal .
