As Zerg, remember you can go above 200 supply: in team games, as zerg, whenever I can save some APM I morph every drone into spines, mass produce units, and cancel those spines to go back mining...I have won so many games with 40+ mutalisk :V
@spice192189 ай бұрын
That means building 80 spines and the canceling cost would be 2000… you’d need 4000 more minerals to build those mutas. Total cost would be 6000 minerals and 4000 gas. That’s a lot.

Marc, I cannot say how much I enjoy your content. I love that you add information that I just never noticed/knew (how many workers do I have... I hover over the supply!)... Been playing since release... still didn't know. One of the things I'd love to see is a pro capitalize on the reaper grenade ignoring armor... I used to use it ALLLLLLL the time... three grenades kill larva... so if you time it just right, go in right when they pop from queen inject, you can wipe out the larva with reapers. I wonder if you could make a sick compilation of reaper wrecking the "future" zerg. I'd love to see it. Your content is FANTASTIC.

@uthermal one thing i've noticed about your game play is when you move your workers to avoid them getting killed and you mass select them and move them, and you want to move them back you sometimes send them back to mine minerals or gas or whatever but they already have a gas or mineral on them... one thing i learned a long time ago is that if you hit the "C" key after you move them to go mine again whether it's gas or minerals the ones that are already carrying a gas or a mineral will return it first and then go mine where you told them to. i think it's a cool thing to keep in mind you dont' lose much by not doing this but sometimes you're sending them for a trip they didn't need to make :) just a gap in your game i've noticed... not that i'm any better or top notch player but... it is what it is.

The most impressive thing I learned from watching this game is that the difference between a pro player and, say, a master or grandmaster is that you aren't just trying to beat the game, you are trying to beat the player themselves by splitting their attention and mindgaming them, and making it as hard as possible for them to play the game even though they are at a huge advantage. It's really impressive.

1 thing might help you in these z vs z challenges, not that you need it, overseers contaminate. If they only have 4 hatches you can delay production repeatedly. Or whatever unit that is the most damaging for other races. So in the muta challenge you could contaminate the factories over and over. This trick also works well when trading out armies. Another nice trick is if you are doing a nydus in their mins drop 4-6 changelings on the ramp on hold command before you do it. Sometimes it screws them up but it always slows them down. (make them at the edge and run them over right before you drop.)

To what you said about feeling like a better player when doing strange challenges, restrictions breed creativity. When I was playing magic the gathering I found that the most restrictive formats or deck limitations were often the most interesting. I always found guild wars with its 8 skill limitation far more interesting that world of warcraft with the seemingly hundreds of skills. Eve online is so much cooler in the tournament formats with point buys on ships and hefty fitting restrictions. I don't even play starcraft; I forced myself to play enough a decade ago to be able to watch a stream, but those limitations are why your channel is so interesting. It's something fresh each time, and a new problem to be solved.
