Can you Beat Pokemon Sword with JUST ONE Ditto?
I attempted to beat Pokemon Sword using only one ditto. This was by far the hardest Pokemon challenge that I've ever taken on and maybe the hardest gaming challenge I've ever done. Having only one ditto on your team in Pokemon Sword is way more limiting than I thought.

At level 100 your ditto has 300 HP, and by the calculations, that's the highest a ditto can have. Your ditto had 31 HP IV. If IVs were random then you had some good luck.

If I was doing the run I'd just hack in a ditto with 31s in all IVs and max the useful EVs to give myself the best advantage. Seemed like he had some hacked items so it's no a stretch

this challenge is the monkeys with typewriters of the pokemon world, with the amount of times you just have to replay a battle and hope for rng. no shade, and HUGE props for both the patience and planning required

immediately upon starting this video I recognized imposter as a potential double-edged sword. free transformation on turn one, yes, but no struggle strats. there's no cop-out, you are STUCK with your opponent's first pokemon

man i cant believe you actually did this this is incredible. Not sure if youve seen it or know him but Jrose did a ditto only challenge on emerald and there was this glitch.... or something where if you level up in mid match the level up stats of ditto override the copy stats so in certain matches he was using a copied mon with his actual ditto stats. I just wanted to know if this happened for you in this run. Amazing video cant leave a comment without saying that man

That glitch is only in gen 3 (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen)

Just a FYI confusion was nerfed in gen 7 so it's only a 30% as opposed to the original 50% of the time so it's not as detrimental to your strategies as it once was hence why you luck out more frequently

Oh my gosh! I saw Pikasprey's series of a Ditto long ago, but that was in an old gen when Struggle did 1/2 the damage _dealt,_ not a quarter of your HP (meaning you could slowly whittle down strong targets). I thought this was impossible in newer generations, and Hop's awful, awful, lead Woolo doesn't help - but sometimes you get so lucky like having a move that hits both in the last gym! Also, 10/10 vid and editing, haven't enjoyed a Pokemon vid this much since MDB

I mean, it still would've been pretty difficult since using struggle makes u lose 1/4 of ur hp. Doesn't having imposter make it easier, especially in later fights

Going into the fourth gen, struggle was nerfed into the floor, going from dealing recoil based on the *opponent,* to now dealing recoil based on *you,* meaning levelling up doesn't make the recoil easier to handle. Thanks, Leftovers Wobbufett... Though at least the move can no longer miss (except against the usual suspects of dig and co. of course) while it could before.

Sounds like you needed 2 dittos so Duncan could switch out and then come back in as one of the opponents' later Pokemon. Also abusing friendship mechanics might have gotten you more lucky saves. :D

Nope. Post gen 4 struggle means any battle with 4 pokemon or more is impossible. And you can't ohko wooloo with a struggle crit to transform into pokemon 2 either.

imposter is kinda worst in this kinda of challenge specially at early game if you don't transform into ur opponent mons you can use ur own ditto stats to struggle the only benefit this have if ur normal stats is better then the enemy stats and if you over-lvling... YES(sometimes) then use ur pp recover stubs to take another form later
