The start with the Houndoom should not count against the run, because it doesn't let you actually choose a move or see the move menu at all. Just as it may not count in nuzlockes due to being scripted.

Defeating the Elite Four is the accepted standard for having beat a Pokemon game. I'm somewhat curious how he got to some of the gyms without beating titans to unlock movement upgrades, but I'm guessing it's possible through a combination of BLJ and throwing balls at wild Pokemon to teleport to them.

Since even the hardest of hard-core nuzlockes count despite forced heals in areas, I'd say that the game forcing you to use a move once is still in the spirit of the challenge. Very good video though and KZbin has the audacity to show it to me even later than to 2rare2die26.

The egg basket containing items if you set up a picnic near an item on the ground isn't a glitch. It's an intended mechanic. You don't have to put the basket on top of the item either, you just need it to be in the picnic radius

@@RealSkello It doesn't dupe it. It just puts more in the basket over time. For items that's essentially the same thing, but it works the same as eggs. You just get them deposited every so often (I think egg power actually increases the item rate too but I'm not sure.) Yes, you can get an infinite amount this way, but it's just how the mechanic works

Wow, Arven is absolutely brutal if you lose that first battle. Btw, the school store lets you bulk buy lemonade without spamming A. I don't know if you have to do something to unlock the item there since I didn't actually check there until after I spent way too long buying them one at a time from a vending machine.

Sand Stream only triggers when the Pokemon enters battle, but he's not able to switch Pokemon as can't use the Pokemon menu. Sand Spit can trigger multiple times while the Pokemon is active without needing it to faint, revive it, and wait for another fainting to bring it back in.

Items are insanely busted in every pokemon game. The only reason this challenge is basically exclusive to this game is because of how open it is, a bug used to gain a ton of money, and an exploit to get around intended start of game progression, the actual content is kind of irrelevant.
