Can you beat Rayman 1 if tings deal damage?

Note: Save states were used in some of harder sections to avoid constantly having to reload my save to keep maximum health. This video is meant to explorer how the levels can be beaten with this mod and not necessarily how easy or hard it is to do in one continuous run. If anyone wants to try this for themselves you can download it here: www.romhacking.net/hacks/6972/ Alternatively you can patch it yourself by editing the bytes in memory at 801C1518 to "08 00 02 02". This is for the NTSC version. Edit: Apparently using some advanced ring techniques you can end Crystal Palace part 1 with full health which would make part 2 beatable! This means only Allegro Presto part 1 and 2 has to be skipped. For part 1 it might be possible with some clips, but part 2 I can't think of any solutions to.

So, you're basically implying that, for any other version, the (same) memory mod (value) will be applicable/successful, but the memory address will be different?

@@4ndy32 Essentially yeah. There's a table in the game's exe with flags for how each type of object should behave. What this mod does is set the flag which indicates that the object hurts Rayman. This table is the same in all versions, but located at different places as the exe files differ.

Oh wow, I missed this till now! I guess this is like Demise Mode for the original game, only even more punishing! I can't believe that simple solution works for Skops, that could be useful for normal playthroughs too! Does it work on PC as well?

I haven't tested, but I'd assume it does! It's precise, but once you get used to the timing it isn't too bad.

It's a cheat in the game. It's accessible on PC, but in the PS1 version it was disabled in the final release. You can however still trigger it using the Rayman Control Panel.

Damn it Ubi Soft! Please let us purchase Rayman Redemption legitimately for all consoles please! 🥺🙏 I’ve got quite a few ideas how they can improve Rayman 2! ;) Quite a lot actually! XD Basically I want it to be mostly like Rayman Revolution, maybe a bigger hub world with more than 1000 lums, and on top of the World being its very own level! Echoing Caves and The Precipice having all their set pieces in the right order! Just before fighting Grolem 13, you actually have to play through a brand new level straight after Iron Mountains, The Sanctuary of the Sky and weather. Razorbeard’s boss battle has three phases, his third phases from the PS1 happens, the corridor of that lava pit opens. And if you get all the lums and cages, you fight Razorbeard once more mono le mono, not in his Growl Goth! One the ground where that last cutscene happens and that boss battle can be Rayman M/Rayman Arena style! Except Razorbeard has a few unfair advantages. Oh yeah! And the option to have the dialog being jibberish or a language you can understand. What ya think RayCarrot buddy? Good idea or bad idea? No need for Rayman 3 to have any improvements that game’s just fine! ;) Same for Origins and Legends! Now if only Ubi Soft would make a completely brand new 3D Rayman game as well! That’d be nice! ;) 😃

Yeah a definitive version of Rayman 2 would be awesome. I think at this point they'd probably have to remake it from the grounds up though and in doing so I'd be afraid they'd loose the magic of the original. The atmosphere of that game is so important I feel! But if they manage to do the game justice with a remake I would totally be there for it!

What i did is making the skin and all with nametag of "funky" in ckd and pbk files . But i dont know if you need more things in gamefiles to apply him in game with his own painting . If there is more then let me know so we can make this mod :)

Yeah you can probably just edit the localization file for that. In the Rayman Control Panel go to Utilities > Binary Tools and under Converters select "UbiArt Localization Files" and "Rayman Legends". Then you can convert the game's localisation.loc8 file to and from a readable format (it's under the EngineData folder).

Yes, but there's no easy way at the moment that doesn't involve a lot of hex edits. I might look into making a tool for it some day.

Dude i might need your help rn, Rayman Control Panel is not showing any progress in Rayman Forever and when i try to play Rayman Forever by using button in program, the game has empty saves but when i'm playing game using desktop icon it normally shows saves, if it's possible, how can i synchronize Rayman in launcher and Rayman in my files?

This happens when using GOG Galaxy. There's a bug in the cloud syncing system there which they still haven't fixed and never responded to me when I wrote to them. I would recommend downloading the offline installer from the GOG website instead of using the Galaxy version. You can find your actual save files in the cloud sync folder in the Rayman Forever install location.

@@thathe120 To clarify, you need to be able to copy the actual file itself from the console to your computer and then back again. I'm not sure if that is possible on an Xbox (I don't own one myself). If it is I can explain the steps to edit it.

@@thathe120 Okay, what you'll have to do is this: - Download the Rayman Control Panel - Go to Utilities > Serializers - Select "Rayman Legends Save Files" and press "Deserialize to JSON" and select the save file and where to convert it to - You will now have a .json file from your save. Inside of this you can edit the data in Notepad. Find the "Profile" section which has the costume defined. It will be some large number. Set this to 417368397. You might also need to edit the costume at some other places, but you can start with this and see if it's enough. - After you've edited the .json file you go back to the Rayman Control Panel and choose "Serialize from JSON". Select the .json file and it will create a new save file for you. Use this.
