@@artofadval Yeah, I actually had more fun playing re 3 remake than re village (must be cause I prefer 3rd person and village got kinda boring after the castle). As a remake is very poor, and as a New game the biggest downside is being extremely short

The dogs in the beginning only spawn if you go backwards into that hallway, meaning even if you circle around back into main mansion lobby and towards that hallway again the dogs won't spawn unless you go backwards into that room. Just something to keep in mind for those wondering.

I would argue that the "restricted movement" challenges are easier than a "knife only" challenge, simply based on the fact that you get to use ranged weapons which fire projectiles, as opposed to just the knife. Tedious? Yes, I'm sure the restricted movement challenges are very tedious and possibly annoying... but in my mind? Its nowhere near as difficult as trying to complete a classic Resident Evil game with just the knife.

Also first time watching anything about the first game, avoided it for a long time because I was hoping for a re-remaster on the RE engine. Much more in-depth and fun that what I had always imagined, definitely deserves a re-remake

I remember seeing this restriction play way back in the days of VHS. Someone submitted a run of RE2 in Japan to one of the game magazines at the time. Can't believe it's now a bit of RE RTA tradition haha.

Here at the start of the video, so I don't know how it's going to go yet but here's my guess. Neptune and baby sharks (doo doo da doo) are going to be a nightmare, and so avoiding Lisa and the Chimeras when holding the fuel cell 😂 On a side note, the first OG Resis are some of my favorite games of all time, so I'm so happy people are coming back to do these wacky runs again (just like how we used to do knife runs way back in Director's Cut). New eyes on the games always make me happy 😁💜

Had a urge to play RE:HD again after watching the oneyplays series , I did 3 runs back to back , normal with chris , true survivor with Jill then a fast run on easy with Jill , I've played this game like 15+ times and I didn't know you could shoot Lisa off the edge in that fight..

For the statue wall-crush area, I wonder if after you get past that first bit after touching the switch, it you could shuffle fast enough to get to the side of the statue and only have to press forward to push it into the wall or if you had to run to get to the side

As much as I'm one of the annoying purists that just likes playing these games as they were intended (I'm shit at speedrunning, but it's still fun) it's refreshing to see the community coming up with new challenge runs. With how old some of these games are, breathing new life into them and keeping the enthusiasm alive, is a really great thing to see - but I think I'll leave the pain that must have been figuring this stuff out to the streamers and speedrunners that put in the real work, while I watch on like a pleb.

I love how the title says "can you beat RE without walking?" Ive seen a lot of videos asking i you can beat a game without (doing anything that is part of playing the game). Fallout 4 for Instance. "Can you beat FO4 without leaving Sanctuary?" You may as well ask if you can beat the game without puttingthe game in the system. By moving jill by raising and loweriv the knife, still makes her walk whethevyoure using the thumbstick or not.

Yes, actually. This is achievable through the RE1R Randomizer. It’s arguably easier though, since all of the bosses would be replaced as well.

Literally anything in this game counts as walking and it was a piss take when trying to do the low carbon footprint X_X "You shoot your gun? Oh, you moved 2 steps"... "you swung your knife? Man you sprinting, thats like 10-20". "Hold on now, did you just look left? Nah, thats 8 steps right there"... I finished the game with 200 steps above the required amount :/ I had to play this game like 10 times to get all the achievements, it wasnt fun ;~;
