After the bonous durability is used up, the gibdo bone fuse does work

Link has a maximum amount of 21 items connected, 3 are ones you can't remove. Weapon sheaths, the object you are ultrahanding (not whole build), mounts, and the equipment you are swapping off of temporarily count

By the way, I'm pretty sure if you throw your weapon to break it, it won't start spawning in the depths. You have to be holding it as it breaks. That gave me a bit of headache too.

That actually makes a lot of sense, because the weapon breaks after it's left your inventory as opposed to when it breaks in your hands, it's still in your inventory.

With a sneakstrike from an eightfold blade w/ octorock attack up +10, molduga jaw, bone proficiency, and attack up 3 food you do even more damage than that. AND it is reusable! Anyways, I always appreciate your videos, Justin, so keep it up! :)

This is true for regular enemies that can be sneakstriked, but they usually don't have enough HP to even justify making that weapon. For bosses and mini bosses that can't be sneakstriked, the method in the video is best I believe.

@@zmskanamzkzkzkakasksk Using the Fierce Deity or Barbarian armor set also doesn't let you stack with the attack up food buffs(Since it's the exact same buff), but Bone Proficiency does(1.8x on top of 1.5x), so even if the buff was 2x, Bone Proficiency stacked with attack up food would still be better.

Fusing something that doesn't break to the royal guard claymore, getting it to badly damaged, and THEN fusing the gibdo bone gets you the badly damaged hit.

But bosses and lynels cannot be hit with a sneakstrike, so for things like ganon, gleeoks, or lynels, his method was the best option. Any enemy that could be hit with a sneakstrike(Which he does use against Army btw), just don't have the health for the 2x multiplier on eightfold blades to be necessary when he already had so many damage buffs.

5:37 Others have also pointed this out, fusing adds an extra 25 durability, so you would need to get the weapon to a badly damaged state with a fuse, then destroy the fuse and attach the gibdo bone. Edit: On an unrelated note, it’s better to sneakstrike (times 8 damage) than to throw the weapon (double damage)

I didn't include this in the video, but I already tried that. I may have done it wrong though so can't confirm for sure. Also, yes sneakstrike would be fine to use on regular enemies, but you can't sneakstrike bosses which were the real issue so I needed to throw the weapon

Royal Guard's weapons only get 10 bonus durability, but yeah. Gibdo Bones break in one hit so they take one point of that bonus durability and then it can't be "accessed" again until another fuse. In this case you'd have to fuse something, hit it at least 10 times with something fused and then attach the Gibdo Bone on its true last hit. Also worth mentioning throwing weapons _against terrain_ to break them for whatever reason doesn't set the flag to allow the "pristine" version to spawn. But I assume he broke another one of the ones he duped against an enemy.

To clarify for anyone who doesn't know fuse materials add 25 durability to any weapon regardless of the weapons current durability so a nearly broken claymore fused with a gibdo bone will get the extra 25 added taking away the passive ability as it will no longer be at 1 durability

For future reference, you can’t one shot a Stalnox. The final blow has to be done when its eye is on the ground. If you deal enough damage to one shot the Stalnox while its eye is in its socket, it will survive with minimal HP and its eye will fall to the ground.

Why do people say that royal guard weapons double again on their last hit? from my experience it does not; only when it's close to breaking. i've used a royal guard weapon almost broken on a lynel mount, then got it one hit before breaking and did the lynel mount again. it did the same damage as before.

I believe there's a hidden damage multiplier in totk that was missed in the calculations, of 0.8x for spears and 1.2x for two-handed weapons, so these damage numbers would theoretically be even higher - although I don't know if the multipliers from breaking a weapon and throwing it stack with each other, since with most weapons hitting an enemy by throwing it ALWAYS breaks it. The loading-screen text in BOTW implies that it's the act of breaking the weapon when thrown that causes it to deal double damage, but I have no idea if that's actually the case or not 😅
