The first time I killed Duke was when I had already killed the moon Lord twice, and I was using a Terrarian, which I got from the first

First time I beat him was with the old spectre hood and razorpine, my accessories were a complete mess and I liked the feel of touching a sharknado. Then the next playthrough I attempted him at the start of hardmode and I beat him with cursed flames and a few really bad accs. (leaf wings, mana flower, frostspark boots and that's the end of the good ones, I really didn't know about the power of the emblems back then) I actually had to use a glitch which made an item think it's something with fishing power and you could use that to spawn truffle worms with dirt, otherwise my truffle worm farming would have taken a few hours at least. But I beat him and got the bubble gun. I then breezed through the rest of the game up until golem, which was an issue cause of a bad temple spawn which made him spawn in a high boulder-like shaft.
