Terraria, but Skyblock was the HUGE mistake...

Welcome to Terra Caelum, the spiritual successor of Minecraft's Skyblock in Terraria! Every single block is gone, aside from the very few that form the main island and the Lihzahrd Altar deep in the underground. But, as of Journey's End update, even this barren start seems to be capable of going as far as defeating Moon Lord.
This episode (number two) takes the progress much further, completing most of Pre-Hardmode via building, fishing, losing sanity, and beating hordes of foes. Also please for the love of lord can we have life crystals drop at dramatically higher chances the pain is insufferable

Definitely take the 400 hp, even if it’s with Dream luck. Although I like this series, I don’t want you to go insane by fishing for gold crates in Terraria for months (because any veteran in Terraria knows how tedious grinding in this game is-) As fun as Terraria is, the RNG can be a pain in the butt. You definitely have the dedication it takes, but take care of yourself first m8.

Well rn I'm trying to get and research every single item in journey mode and I gotta say Fishing makes me wanna kill myself, even with almost 300 fishing power (all 3 fishing accessories, angler (?) armor, rain, time set to 4:30am, fishing potion, golden fishing rod, master bait and 3 chum buckets), crate potions to boost the catch rate from 10 to 20% and luck as high as possible (gnome, biome torch, greater luck potion always kept above 5 min for max luck and a swarm of ladybugs around. just ladybugs for now, golden critters are such a pain in the ass to get) it takes a rly long time to get... 10... of... each... biome... crate... and ofc... there has to be a hardmode version for all of them... not fun

Honestly I don't think the fishing was remotely worth it at all, even if you had gotten a few life crystals out of it. All that time could have been spend trying to nohit bosses and progress in general instead, which would have taken much, much less time. I don't think it's that hard with 100 max hp, it's vanilla bosses, not SCal or Yharon.

Getting a good amount of master bait will save time in hardmode though, when fishing for ores will be the only available option to progress in armour (spider armour is the only HM armour that can be crafted at an iron anvil and there's no spider cave to get the materials for it, there's no stone/ice to become hallow so no farming queen slime for her armour, tavernkeep can't spawn without killing eater of worlds/brain of cthulhu so none of his armours exist, no queen bee = no witch doctor = no tiki armour, and you can't get pumpkin moon without a dungeon so no spooky armour) EDIT: I was wrong about tavernkeep, you could technically make an artificial corruption/crimson biome by buying the seeds from dryad during a blood moon, which would let you fight that boss and spawn tavernkeep. Now, whether you could pull off the higher tiers of OOA with the gear limitations of this challenge, is another matter. EDIT 2: You can't craft the evil boss spawns without an altar, so tavernkeep is still impossible to access.

Scrolling down, it looks like just about everyone wants you to just take the life crystals, and I definitely say yes to that too. Its pain doing it in the Journey world gotten from your discord, duping 10 of each biome crate etc but at least theres a reachable goal in sight and I managed to do that. I can't imagine how much of that suffering is just thinking *maybe* you'll get one with the next 15 crates but that translates to unholy amounts of double tapping leftclick while doing something else, and you can't even duplicate 50% power bait or pause time on the best weather conditions for fishing. You have certainly earned it, technically its just a matter of time until all 15 would eventually drop but that amount of time is not even close to the amount anyone should be fishing. Btw I got Risk of Rain 2 because of you and I really love it

For Lihzahrd enemies to spawn, it seems you need to have Lihzahrd blocks offscreen while standing over Lihzahrd brick backwall. In that case, this form of Skyblock isn't actually possible, because you can't get Jungle Temple enemies to spawn. However, through Plantera is possible, and there's nothing that would make post-Golem impossible either, if Golem itself could be spawned. Also, please just take the health. Fishing infinitely isn't particularly fun for anyone. Edit: I was wrong. Was playing Skyblock myself and spawned a random Flying Snake while just in front of Lihzahrd Brick Wall with no actual bricks for them to spawn on.

After seeing part 1 i got inspired to try this out with my friend, but we played on Journey mode because we didnt want to grind months for heart crystals, so we duped golden crates(requires 10) and it still took two of us sth like 10 hours of just fishing non-stop. We are currently at Plantera and its been quite fun outside of fishing so far

I played journey mode and getting the biome crates is slightly easier to do than the golden crates (like a 0.9% chance for them or something along those lines) and getting them was pretty painful considering that you had to get 20 sets of 10 biome crates for pre-hardmode and hardmode. Fishing is fun btw

Maybe give another little platform with a topaz tree, and enough sand biome to spawn antlions. With some topaz, some mandibles, and illegal gun parts, you could make the sand gun, then rng would let you eventually get a traveling merchant with an ammo box so you could use it to dupe sand. Access to sand would unlock glass for bottles, making potions possible. It would also unlock the ocean properly, letting you get the angler and other ocean stuff. It would also give you access to stone and gems from the topaz tree. Ofc, you can also make an argument for any number of little islands that would give you a small bit of x resource so you could get further items.

That's indeed something to consider, but it takes away a ton from minimalism in both the map and the gameplay, so I'm not sure how to weigh that well. Plus, antlions can't spawn without a specific 40 sand structure, which is a heavy toll.

Yeah, however getting life crystal from golden crate isn't the best choice since most people play vanilla. I still wonder why do they have to lower the chances to get good loot like cmon rod of discord!

1/15 doesn't even sound like such bad odds, that's just under 7%, but the real difficulty is getting the crates in the first place. It's not too hard if you can max out fishing, but without sand to get the Angler, or a bottle for potions, that's pretty much impossible. No fishing or crate potions, no pocket guide, weather radio or sextant, no Golden or Hotline fishing rods. A clock is possible so if you know the right times to fish you can get a small buff there, but that's clearly not enough.
