For the record, it's called the FORCE Unleashed for a reason, it creates emphasis on the Force abilities in the game, that was the whole point of the design, so yes, you probably can beat it without the lightsaber. If anything, lightsaber combat is not TFU's strong suit. It would be much more challenging to try and beat Jedi Outcast or Academy without a lightsaber, by just using guns and your Force powers, as those games placed much more emphasis on the lightsaber.

@@vlexonkol8466 it might be. Dark Jedi have a very brief vulnerability phase when they use force powers like saber throws. I mnaged to beat Tavion and her apprentice in Academy with guns only. It was actually pretty quick too.

A few little details: The Felucian Shamans do protect the warriors with the red aura, but only against lightsaber attacks so in a no-saber challenge it has no effect lol. You actually can grip the Purge Troopers: you have to target something next to them and use the multi-grip power. After that you can throw them off cliffs/into lasers like any other object. Also it's possible to beat Shaak Ti by gripping and throwing her off the cliff in the first stage, but it's unintentional. Most of the time she jumps back up but there are some sweet spots that kill her. You can do the same with PROXY but, while with Shaak Ti it ends the level, for PROXY it softlocks the game as you're supposed to do the QTE to continue the level.

It would be cool if there was an achievement like “We are peacekeepers not soldiers” as per Mace Windu’s line, where you beat the game as a pacifist by not attacking enemies, or if you do attack them you don’t use your lightsaber to beat them (this wouldn’t apply to bosses for obvious reasons).

3:26 at this part my brother and I figured out that if you stand close enough without triggering the laser gate, you can remove the battery early and continue as normal. When the guy says "Raise the laser gate!" the laser gate, in fact, does not raise.

I generally used Force powers when playing the Force Unleashed anyways, only bothering with the saber occasionally (usually for bosses). The Force is what’s most emphasized gameplay wise in this series, in contrast to Jedi Knight which emphasizes the lightsaber.

you can dodge the lightsaber throws bro. you are just not using the dodge. you are using dash which is not a dodge it is just a speed ability that also acts a 2 dimensional evasion in a single direction. there is a dodge ability but you have to be locked on to the enemy with R1 and then this changes L1 from force dash to a multidirectional 3D evade in whichever direction your left stick points

Played the Wii version when I was a youngling, much like the PS2 version it was different than 360/PS3/PC version, different and generally shorter levels, the Jedi Temple you go to 3 separate times throughout the game and also get a level on the Cloud City.
