If both players use all their pieces and still, no one has won, will the board know that it is a stalemate and end the game as a tie?

In more than 30 games we've never had that happen. I was curious to know what would happen if that did happen and had only 2 pieces left to play, but alas the bot was able to beat me so I didn't get to figure it out and haven't been able to get that close again.
