For those unaware; Veyle in this map has a hidden skill called Nullify Damage which does exactly what it says on its name during combat. So unless the last DLC gives you a way to kill units while bypassing combat entirely, only hacks will allow you to beat her here.

Camilla’s Decisive Strike deals 5 damage to the foe after combat if you get a critical hit during combat, and I’ve had foes die to this, so maybe that would work? Or maybe her taking damage from flames via Dark Inferno would work too, but that would require multiple turns which is probably not ideal in this situation.

Actually you may be able to kill her with Book of Worlds stacked up to 3 since its flat 10 damage and it DOES kill and knock off revival stones, it also makes her immobile and its a cheap 300 SP

Critical hits can’t happen if you do 0 damage. The devs probably thought "if it deals 0 damage, doing crits would just waste time" without thinking of such specific occasion.

I hear conflicting information on that point. I can only say with confidence that it's definitively the case for Veyle, but I don't know any details on wheter that also applies to all other enemy and ally units. If it does it's a litte sad. There was nothing more funny than to see an enemy crit in the old games for 0 damage, especially bandits lol.

I’ve never seen a crit when there’s 0 damage, mostly since I’ve been consistently using armored units so I would at least have seen some 0 damage crit. That being said, it’s from experience, I haven’t done a deep analysis or anything.

I had fun putting Camilla on her because of her really high phys/mag and also the 3H bracelet just because it was violent to have her attack twice with Raging Storm 😝. I'm curious to see how the 5 new units will turn out once maxed out...

have you tried the mage cannoneer class? the let fly ability does out of combat dmg and i think it kills too. but it only has 1 use before it breaks so i suggest to bring three. edit: actually i think u need 4 since she has three revive crystal.

Glad some others have tested this out. The most I ever got was beating out the Four Hounds. Also required grinding the hell out of the team just so they wouldn't die so easily. Some hounds are easier than others, but Veyle does seem to require some level of map damage to do anything. Even then, she has 4 bars of health, and the only real map damage you can really get is off of Tiki's Breath. Unfortunately, I doubt the last DLC will just allow us to "kill" Veyle in Ch.11 Have yet to try it, but I imagine things like Camilla's Dark Inferno could also work as well, since it's map damage that occurs on the next turn a unit is standing in it.

10:25 Aymr actually doesn't do effective damage to Veyle. Veyle is weak to weapons effective against Fell Dragon, not Dragon. That threw me off constantly against the Corrupted Wyrms. Only Engaging with Emblem Alear grants effective damage to Fell Dragons.

Be me... i did this in hard mode without dlc, only 3 characters at advanced class (Alear, Chloe and Anna)... Jesus it was a pain in the ass, i had to use the freeze staff vs Zephia, while focusing hard in the fking emo suicidal mage, my trump card was Yunaka with iron dagger +3 and Mikaela engrave (along with avoid +10 skill inherit, she was able to solo the dragons), Alear with +5 Liberation with Marth engrave (avoid +10 skill too), he was face tanking Marni and Mauvier, Chloe with +3 Steel lance, and Sigurd engrave, the rest were Diamond, Alcryst, Alfred (just because it was their chapter and they appear in the scene in that chapter), Jean (with Obstruct + heals), Jade and Vander.. had to use on everyone HP, SPD, DEF, RES potions 1 for each one, and MAG for Anna (sage) and for Ivy (in order to one shot that tanky crazy girl Marni using Sigurd emblem)... The big problem for me was Zephia, i had to run and retreat everyone like theres no turn back, she can kill almost everyone in a single battle, except for my Yunaka and Alear who were the only ones with high Avoid stats).... but this is not the worst... i ended up getting like 4 levels with Alear getting only 3 stats.. that was fking bad rng. After everything i went to fight Veyle and... surprise.. 0 dmg no matter what. I ended up wasting 2hrs in that battle ... FFFFFFFFFFFFUCK!. Conclusion: ... I wasn't even able to punch his face damn it!... ended up retreating.

I'm curious... is it possible to do a damage overflow? i know alot of games kinda glitch out if you do so much damage or so little damage it overflows. admitly the only example i know of in fire emblem for this is Medues in the very first fire emblem where if you overflow damage he becomes immortal as you killed him but the game doesn't realize he's suppose to be dead as a result he just becomes unable to die as i guess a flag in the game was still triggered

I'm no expert on that topic, but allow me to theorize a bit. I know a litte about over- and underflows, but I don't know what values the game uses. If its just 0-255 an overflow might be possible in theory, but even with crits that would require a 85 point difference in atk/def, which is probably beyond what the stat caps allow. In addition Veyle seems to just set all damage in battle to 0, so overflowing that seems impossible.

Actually even for 256 it would need to be 86, but anyways, if the limit is 9999 then it's definitely set manually, so I don't think we'll ever exceed the 16- bit limit of 65'536.

I don't know why but the president of the divine dragon fanclub got perfect levelup after perfect levelup and so she could challenge Veyle in a fistfight. I cleared the map and thought: "can you defeat her?" I was disappointed that the HP stops falling after reaching 1. Oh well it was still fun. It was my first playthrough so hard mode. I think its impossible to grow strong enough in maddening.

I think it's possible in maddening too, since the enemies in the divine paralogue don't scale to your unit level and the farming battles stay beatable. You could theoretically face her with a 20/20 promoted class, if you're insane enouth to grind them up.

The only thing I can think of is maybe have her crit someone who has reflect. Without the crit, it won’t deal enough damage to kill her, letting you damage her. When she crits though, perhaps the game can be tricked into still reflecting the damage, killing her.

I just got to this chapter today and I spent 41 turns trying to defeat all the enemies thinking there would be unique dialogue like in Fire Emblem Echoes if I killed everyone... 2 hours later and Veyle wouldn't die.

Very good video! Thats pretty sad that you cant kill her. I think in other FE games it was possible with enemys like this one. Have you played other FE Games too? Engage was pretty fun but still nothing beat the FE Fates mechanics to me. FE 3H was by far the worst from the gameplay perspective.

If an enemy has been hit with a knife once, then all further attacks will deal 1 more point of damage. This is better than a point of strength or magic, because you get that extra damage no matter how high the enemy's defense is. Take a framme with 15 phys attack attacking a 35 defense general. It will be 0 damage per attack, but with one knife hit(where it dealt damage) she deals 1 point of damage per hit. It is also how Alear's personal works.

No, if they allowed her to be beaten, she would probably just go "I’ve been defeated, but I can’t fall here, I must make my retreat" but the intimidation factor would have been gone

I always hope that developers add that kind of "what if" stuff. But I agree with Tezereth, she would probably just retreat. That kinda annoys me in later titles. Enemies often just retreat and even come back later, while my units die or are crippled.

Corrupted Wyrms (like in main chapters) are fell dragons, so Wyrmslayers have no additional effect But Phantom Wyrms (Like in Paralogues) are Dragons, so Wyrmslayers do work. But they will also work on the former under the effects of Engage+, if I recall. The classification system clearly has no flaws. They definitely didn't make effective weapons way too weak on the whole, either

It may be possible with Sigurd skill that does extra damage depending of the distance you travel before the attack

Unlikely, since it only boosts attack dmg in battle and the other boosts don't help either.
