You know what would've made that final boss way more manageable? Equipping weapons in your inventory. Kiryu can just carry like 10 weapons. And unlike environmental weapons, they don't automatically break after a heat move, but rather it just expends one durability. It is most useful after starting with Majima, as then Kiryu also gains access to dragon and tiger in the shopping district to repair weapons.

4 years too late but. You know you could've bought weapons for Kiryu, including firearms, right? You could have even ground for a pistol with infinite ammo, making beating the game trivial. A couple of shotguns stashed in Kiryu's pockets after grinding mr Shakedown made Shibusawa's boss fight extremely easy, last time I played it. I mean I also had DoD at lvl 3, which kinda made the entire game fairly easy, but guns made it even easier
