Seriously. Even in "Duelist of the Roses", rituals are a nightmare. And you can run away from attacks in that game! Doesn't help that it's always three monsters with attacks rarely breaching 3000 when you could give an Unhappy Maiden 3000 attack in two turns in both games.

Another trivia of Giant Scorpion of the Tundra based on its Japanese reading is that in the Tag Force series, a few of the characters who are tsundere run it as a random one-off in their decks, even if it makes zero sense for them to run. And often it's marked as one of their "Favorite" cards, which means when you unlock the ability to edit their decks you can't take it out.

43:32 Just putting this out for future runs, Nightmare has only monster cards in his deck. He'll never play spell or trap cards. So once you can run over Blue Eyes Ultimate, you're in the clear. Huh, and here I thought Fiends were the only archtype to have a fusion contained entirely within their own archtype (Job-Change Mirror + Fiend = Summon Skull). Good to know Insects have the same.

Strongest generic fusion, which is the speedrunning meta, is Twin-headed thunder dragon, which its Thunder dragon base can be used in an all-out thunder deck like Kuwagata α in this run and Job-change mirror which can surprisingly be obtained from Duel Master K with the A-S POW

this game is beyond iconic for the series, and my personal favourite, but if you're looking for an actual card game accurate game, definitely look into getting the GBA game 'Yu-Gi-Oh! Fairies are actually very strong in this game since there are many Equip cards for them and many for female monsters, which many of the Fairy-type monsters are. And they are the easiest type for farming S-Tech drops

Fun fact, Giant Ballpark Insects is a relatively common deck used in events in Master Duel since the parts are rarely banned. People are using it currently in the type restricted event (Beast-Warrior/Beast/Winged Beast/Insect/Reptile).

I was playing Beetrooper myself in the event, still saw way more Giant Ballpark stuff than Beetrooper on the other side, but that's just mostly a cost thing. Beetrooper's expensive if you weren't around to pull on the normal pack w/ it and are stuck pulling on the Secret.

This game was my first experience ever of YuGiOh, followed shortly after by Dualist of the Roses. So it's fantastic seeing challenge runs like this. Love the trivia and your commentary! There's definitely going to be a major variance in the difficulty with this kind of run. I imagine that Pyro and Fairy will probably be the worst.

You madman, you're actually gonna try and do a ritual run at one point. I look forward to it! Also, this is only the third episode in your Forbidden Memories series, but the improvements over the first two episodes are insane. I like how you kinda gave the Egypt parts of the game their own little sorta story arc, about the bugs being fumigated, and you bringing them back (and feeding the man-eater bugs) and the "...tries to shove the millenium ant farm up his butt" made me burst out laughing. Also, teh fun facts between matches WERE indeed fun! You mentioned one card being worth a lot because it only had one printing, did you know the card "Bean Soldier" only had 1 printing and can go for roughly $17USD, despite having no effect or anything? I'm not sure if I said this whne I commented on the last video, but for some reason, I like it when you read out what cards you win from the fight. I mean, half of the time they're just potatos (cards of no real use to you or your runs), but for some reason, I just like it. No idea what the next run's gonna be, but looking forward to it!

I appreciate these runs, as I played this game as a child. It's great. So I'd like to suggest something for these videos. Perhaps an easily made tier list made with any sort of spreadsheet app. This list would have multiple properties: -Ranks based on the ranks in the game, naturally color coded. -Deck titles based on the kind of card you use, for now you'd have Sea Serpent, Insect(Easy and Hard) and Dinosaur. -Rank determinations based on several factors: >Run Length >Story Wins (Since repeating duels would be a bad thing, as a deck ready for Heishin would have less runs than others) >Losses >Monsters Available >Overall Enjoyment (with the deck in question in comparison to other decks) I know a Pokemon KZbinr that does this with their solo runs, and I feel like it would add to these runs if you did a similar table for these decks. Either way, I'm loving the content man, keep up the good, and very long, work.

I was trying to figure out the criteria to rank the decks other than arbitary "feel" of what was difficult. 100% agree a list is needed. Current rankings to satiate curiosity are: 1. Insects 2. Sea Serpents 3. Dinosaurs 4. Current deck i'm doing 🤫

This was a really good video. I especially liked the trivia during the duels, which helps keep up the energy throughout. It's also cool to see the first fusion summon of the series iirc. I think for the next episode Plant and Rock are the most interesting types remaining.
