I've lost plenty of expensive lures and found out that time of day , conditions etc, is more important than price. Cheap lures work, just maybe upgrade the hooks and rings. Except for the cheap supermarket vibe lures I bought that floated. 😂

Cracker vid shroom, ive really been looking forward to your budget videos! Just wondering, for your custom rod, would you like the wrapping on the rod tip to be mildly glow in the dark, or it can be a bright yellow or green, or orange. I have found that having a brightly coloured tip is very useful for day fishing and if your facing the sun. Also great at night time when your using a headtorch! So Shroomy, please let me know which rod tip colour you would like, or if you just want plain black or any other colour of your choose perhaps red. The rod should be fully ready by 1/5 or 3/5. Awesome Peter, which ever looks brightest at night. Im not sure glow is the brightest strangely enough. Those reflective tape on road workers jackets and road markings seem to be good but I don't know if that's possible

I'll have to play around with it and see, ill keep your request in mind. If things are successful I'll likely do either the glow in the dark or a bright semi fluro orange/yellow. We just bought my daughter one of those pink rods from Kmart that light up it's a Jarvis Walker one for like $20-$25 and I pulled a 2.3kg bream on it off our local wharf, almost broke my wrist when it hit the bait the bloody thing because the rod handle is so small.

My dad had an expensive Silstar telescopic that was fantastic. He lost it in the lake but I went diving and found it again. Then he managed to break it 😢. I have a few really cheap Shimano telescopics and a few dearer Daiwa ones. The cheap ones are pretty bad with soggy tips but the more expensive ones are OK. If you can afford it then the multi piece travel rods from Shimano and Daiwa are better.
