I have been coming alone to Thailand since 2016 many times every year and I have not had any incidents where my life was threatened, or I was robbed. But I have been robbed and stabbed in Mexico, I have been robbed in Chile, I have been threatened to be killed in Brazil and New Orleans. So I personally find that Thailand is safe. .However, if you are looking for problems in Pattaya, you will definitely find them. And you should always keep your eyes open and you will have a great time here🇹🇭

I've been fortunate to visit Pattaya four times in the last 12 months, always alone. I was a complete newbie 12 months ago. I do have a friend who works in Pattaya 6 months of the year, but most nights I went out alone. To date, each trip has been better than the previous one. Lots of good advice in this video, although you can also pay by card in established shops in Central Festival and Terminal 21. To be honest, I feel safer in Thailand than I do in England.

I travel to Pattaya every year for the marathon (3rd week in July). I take the airport bus and walk alone at 11pm the couple of kilometres from the bus stop in north Pattaya to my hotel near Beach Road. I've never felt safer anywhere, including my hometown which has drunken idiots looking for fights on Friday and Saturday nights. Unfortunately, if you wait until (often, unreliable) friends are ready, available, financially willing, etc. to travel, you will never, ever go anywhere. Friends have never ending excuses about being busy with work, family, sport, not wanting to visit Pattaya, etc. They always make vague promises about how "next year will be different". It is never different. Wait to go with friends and you will stay home forever, getting older and older and it all seems too hard. Just buy a ticket and go there!

Going alone to Pattaya is the best you can do! I use to go with a friend but the last couple of years I always went alone and will never go with friends again. Not only to Pattaya but also to Koh Lanta, Chang, Samui, etc. You can do what ever you want, any time, always and you don't have to consider about anyone else. I’ve been researching Thailand for about 4 years before coming. So I feel as if I have a fairly good idea of what I can expect. With that being said no plan is 100% but that’s also the beauty of it.

Don’t drink too much, particularly if you travel alone. Nobody will be next to you to tell you to go back to your hotel, or don’t do this or don’t do that… Don’t cross the line where problems come up. Everyone should know where his line is and avoid it at all cost. 99.9% of people who had problems, drama and tears in Thailand have in common that all of them crossed their lines by far.

Is Thailand safe for people travelling alone?...I was in Thailand for the first time last year when I was almost 45, in Pattaya, and I was reminded of my youth when you could still be out alone at night without a care in the world...that is no longer possible in Germany these days...come to Thailand, experience the feeling of freedom, friendliness, and above all security...the whole world meets here and you get along with each other...you can have trouble anywhere if you need it and want it
