Almost any dentist outside of the tourist traps is cheap, painless and pretty easy. Normal filling between 400 and 700 baht, proper teeth clean 300 to 500 baht. Opticians vary a lot in price and standards. Lasic surgery in Thailand is exceptionally good value and the better ones are reputable.

I live in Thailand since 2010. My golden rule was and still is.... rent rent, rent. Never buy. If one wants to own buy property in the country you come from. And by renting one is free to go and change. I did that many times both in Chiang Mai as well as in Pattaya/ Jomtien. Same goes for a car... in Thailand I drive a very old Mitsu Lancer. It still goes and it brings me everywhere I want to go... no fancy car in Thailand for me ( I have one in Europe). Just keep it simple. Many people buying condos and fancy cars forget one thing. Thailand is not your homecountry . Same goes for girls..... keep it simple. Trust but always keep a bit suspicious.. it is good for both ones emotional as ones financial health.

there is another type of semi regular gf that is cheap ,they are the freelancer with a sponsor ,i've come across accidently girls who i lived with for months on end upto 6 months who had either sponsors in other countries or even husbands who were in other countries for various reasons ,all i did was pay rent or they lived with me and i just payed for food ect ,they cooked and looked after me so was a good trade ,no salary at all ,but finding these is usually something you find out later on after couple months as they dont always say they have a sponsor but you work it out later ,as long as you don't get to attached its financially a good deal ,and will last until said sponsor or husband comes back .
