Keeping in mind that this is still in the early stages of the Covenant invasion of Earth (where in Halo 2 they were expecting this place to be holy & undefended by humanity, hence a small fleet), I think it may be a scorched earth policy by command because the prophets don't want any humans getting away with this sacred knowledge of a planet, more specifically the land around the Ark Portal at Voi, of such religious significance, nor the fact that humans were there before the hierarchs.

I was playing Kikowani Station today and discovered that Dutch will eventually advance the phantom and destroy the hives at the end on his own. He even tells Buck to stand aside. I was exploring the area on foot, so maybe I hit a time limit or maybe it's related to me being near the hives but on foot. He just flew overhead, started blasting away, and ended the level for me.

Absolutely delighted to discover another Halo challenge runner this early. Also yeah, the ODSTs have great personalities, helped of course by the Firefly guys. Big deal back then and even now, they've just got such charisma. As with many pacifist runs on games designed specifically for violence but which give you allies, a lot of this wound up being 'come on, damn AIs, kill them already', doing everything to help them except actually shooting, but with the squad's banter, at least it's funny. Also, your casual use of 'turning heel' to describe the NMPD police officer shows you're my kind of people.

I did Deus Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided on Pacifist on the hardest difficulties, unlike Odst those games are optimized for it (mostly) In HR you *have* to kill like 3 people in a bossfight but other than that knocking out people in a safe way is satisfying and morally aligned with how I would actually approach situations, MK introduces another layer to bosses in either a vocal conversion debate or just knocking them out with an emp and or gas grenade. 3 Odst got a bad wrap for being an overpriced expansion but it didn't take long for people to adore the distinct jazz-noir feel, I wish there was actually more prevalent Rain like the cover but everything else is still fun, Firefight is at it's best here. You're smaller and weaker than a spartan and that makes enemies like the brute chieftain and hunters *terrifying* I had a lot of fun with this with my next door neighbor back in the day I don't think there will ever be another game like this in the halo franchise ever again

I've heard that the AI's fire rate with the weapons is shared between marines and AI, hence your allies will fire faster and therefore deal more DPS if you give them Covenant weapons. Unfortunately I don't have a source for this, and I'm not sure if it's just the Halo 2 or not. Think I heard it on a Halo speedrun GDQ stream once?

you do not have to kill any of the enemies at the beginning of the game there is a glitch in co-op where if you stand near the door you go to after you get the call you go to the door then you stand in the middle of the door and your teammate has to die and when they respawn they clip through the door and then the door will open and you don't have to kill the enemies at the beginning so I hope this is helpful.

The AI can't do anything if they aren't in a playspace because they are only programmed to do things on a navmesh that allows them to do things to the player.
