I daily'd my MRS/Spyder for quite awhile before doing an engine swap. Managed to get 12 bags of groceries in there. Between the passenger seat/footwear, rear seat area, and frunk(tyre container minus the spare) it fit everything well and was just an oversized grocery cart for the time. Small capacity just takes some ingenuity to overcome issues.

since im going from mostly dailying a motorcycle and sometimes riding around in a fleet car, having an mr-s as a daily does'nt seem too bad at all... im planning on getting one, but its either a seasonal thing or they are super uncommon here, last year ive seen only 3 for sale and this year none with exception of a few aw11s ps/offtopic: really dig this video, havent seen a normal and down-to-earth (not overly edited) video about cars in literal years

Remove the soft top and the rear cubbies then add a luggage net
@PlaneTMRS
@PlaneTMRS 2 жыл бұрын
Not a bad idea but without the softtop it's not really practical in the summer.. I mostly only use the Hardtop in the winter :) but I think I'll remove the cubbies and add a rollbar, screw luggage space xd
@alexhise968
@alexhise968 2 жыл бұрын
@@PlaneTMRS on mine I will have a tent top which requires the installation of a roll bar. It folds up pretty small and lets you take the hard top in the summer. And not worry too much about a sprinkle. Since I run around on a 200tw 245/40R15 its not wise to neglect the weather.

@PlaneTMRS
@PlaneTMRS 3 жыл бұрын
@wookieechicken5188
@wookieechicken5188 3 жыл бұрын

it can be dd only if you have second more practical dd ;-) i dd it during non winter seasons when i have nothing to transport, when i have noone to transport, (+ some more conditions) - in all other cases i take my other dd

It's *possible* to daily drive the MR2. I did it for the first two years I had my 2003 (2003-2004). Is it possible? Yes. Is it comfortable? No. Especially if your daily drive involves a lot of traffic, high speed highways or hot summer weather. I had all three during Texas summers and by the time I got home, I was deaf, sweating (even with A/C) and in a bad mood. Since then the Spyder has been only an occasional grocery store / pleasure drive car and it's much better suited to that.

I own a MR2 spyder and I absolutely love it. But I totally agree with that. It can even be dangerous to drive it in trafic because high vehicules such as trucks may not even see your coming. Plus I live in Europe, parkings are very narrow and getting out of the car can be a nightmare in that case given how low it is.

Hmm good question, it sure will be a little difficult but with changing seat and steering wheel there is a lot more in it! It always depends on the ratio of legs to body. For me the steering wheel is to far forward but I can't move the seat closer because I'm already lightly hitting my knees while steering. But I'm sure with a bucket seat and a deep dish steering wheel or a steering wheel spacer there should be no problem! Maybe ask some people in the forums for experiences :)
