I've always been obsessed with these cars just on the basis of being the last true "backwards corolla" formula. There will never be another 1000kg MR economy sports coupe. It doesn't matter how ugly and bad they are stock, they're worth putting money and time into for the superior layout. I love how you're straight up about using fleabay and amazon parts, you struck a good balance of function and cost. These platforms are just meant for DIY. I would seriously question someone dolling these up with $5000 in purposeless mods. Enjoy it man! By the way I believe Tougetime is in your area, he has a similar build, collab maybe?

I agree with everything you just said! Thank you 🙏🏾 yeah he his, I plan on hitting him up at some point once the car is tuned

Looks great. I got the curse from my 2001 Spyder. Hard to imagine losing the driving experience while I'm still able to drive. All-stock for me pushing my skill's limit rather than the car's. Safer and cheaper that way. Preserves value better as well.

My guy why do you have all of my dream cars? The spirit mrs is my favorite car of all time. Must mean an audi sport quattro group b car is next on your list lol. Thanks for the look at the yota keep up the great work

That’s a very tasteful and effective series of modifications. Most attractive MRS mod I have seen - and I’ve seen many. I agree about the available chin spoilers (lip) being unattractive. Your elegant solution combined with the slim side intakes make the Mk3 look more European and sleek. Nice mirrors and wobbly wing solution too. Enjoy the car, I’m never going to sell mine.

Why thank you sir! 🙏🏾 Yeah I wanted a simple but unique and decent look for the car. Like you I will never sell it, I love it enough to get a second one!

Thanks man, most people don’t like the way this generation look from factory including myself, so I had to add my own style to it.

Holy hecccc! Airborne at 120😅 that's wild. Glad you were able to replace it. I have a Spyder that I 2zz swapped myself and it is a veritable rice rocket. Absolutely thrilling to push it screaming well past 3 digits😁

Fun walkthru. Enjoy the diy, reminds me of chumpcar, do what can with what ya got. I had a 996 for a bit and loved it. But the maintenance isnt cheap, you HAVE to stay on top of it or it gets REALLY expensive, and even then some of the motors have issues (bore scoring) that can quickly end up being a $20k bill. I have a couple videos on my channel of it that you might enjoy.

Nice ride brotha.The exhaust work is sick. Which one do you drive more this or the Miata?
@HaeeyyProductions6 ай бұрын
Thanks! The miata has more miles on it because I had it since 2018, and I literally just got this up and running within the last 2 months. As time progresses and I get more acquainted with the mr2 I'll figure out then which one I love yo drive the most :)

Nice going. Reality like your approach. Just a question (wanna do the same) does the difference in tyre circumference mess with the abs? I suppose you don't have trc as well.
@HaeeyyProductionsАй бұрын
Thanks man, yeah no traction control and I have no issues with abs.

Same exact thing happened to me in my old integra gsr on back roads! The balance on those ol (ff) cars isn't that great for those speeds. Never drven an (mr) car tho.
@HaeeyyProductions5 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that man! Try to drive one when you get a chance, it’s really like a go cart.
@kgrimm55765 ай бұрын
@HaeeyyProductions I bet they handle well. Before my gsr, I had an svt contour & was quite surprised on its handling. I drive a is350 x pack now, it's safe, reliable, & has plenty of power for a daily. Btw I used to live in Tac when a kid :)

@HaeeyyProductions almost got a 350Z, well a beautiful G37S at Seattle's Finest, but 2door. Needed a reliable sporty 4door, so I got my Lexus IS350 for steal, which oddly enough, stock to stock, my IS350 is faster, I'm guessing due to gearing, take care :)

I sustained similar damage to the back right part of my mr2 spyder as your car in thumbnail, did you have to get the frame repaired where the impact was, how'd did you go about fixing it if that was the case?
@HaeeyyProductions3 ай бұрын
Actually that thumbnail photo was the first car and it was totalled. This is the second car.

the boxsters are under 10k. its still a porsche right?
@HaeeyyProductions6 ай бұрын
I don’t know how that Porsche life works but I do have track day experience with boxster drivers and in my experience you can’t tell them they aren’t the equivalent to a 911 😂🤣
@cornercarver6365 ай бұрын
I know at least the 987’s need a couple thousand dollars in aftermarket to be suitable for track use. Need a Motorsport AOS $1600, Center radiator for $330, and deep sump oil pan for another $350. That’s if you can do all the work yourself.
