After some research, I found out that what you drew in the second piece wasn't furry and it's actually called kemonomimi, which is very different from furries. So don't worry Sam, you're safe from becoming a furry artist. (the pieces were amazing though ♥️)

I think the reason for animal’s fur being lighter towards the center is because melanin is heat sensitive, so it forms more in extremities like noses, ears, arms and legs and less in warmer central areas like the torso, like Siamese cats

Side Note: I thought I would also mention that while both of these characters are super neat in a very whimsical sort of way, I (though I hate to admit it) actually prefer the furry over the four-armed chick. The furry reminds me of a cross between, like, a sort of Harley Quinn/Mad Hatter character combined with Yura the Hair Demon from Inuyasha. Add her silly, diabolicalness to the four-armed chick's brute strength (and possible speed, seeing as she is so lightweight); I think it'd be a safer bet to have them on your team than have to fight against them as a team. 😵‍💫
