Thanks for posting this video, well done. I first travelled the Bridle Track in my new 1972 HQ Holden Ute. It sure was a lot different then, compared to now. I drove that track many times for the next 6 years in that ute. l was prospecting for gold and cashed in enough gold to buy a brand new 1978 Toyota Landcruiser SWB FJ40. My only travelling companion on these "prospecting trips" was my German Shepherd Dog. I kept my "hot spots" a secret. There is definitely, GOLD IN THEM THAR HILLS... New subscriber. Regards, Brian.

Oh their would be gold there. Thank you for this comment. I appreciate everyone taking the time to watch and give their stories of the track and area. I love this country so much.

We had the privilege to stay at Private Property, but was told it was overgrown. Ryan and I took our battery Whipper snippers and cleared what we could. I go back up with my petrol gear soon enough.

Very dry out that way. Good simple track with some great camping by the looks. It's on my list of places to check out.

I fell in love with it last year. We have done so many insane tracks over the years. But this is just good, simple overlanding that anyone with a 4wd can do.

I did the Bridle Track in the late 90's. It was in good condition but there were no guard rails at all. It reminds me a little of McKillop's Track in the Vic High Country. One of Australia's most dangerous roads. It's a long, long way down to the river below with absolutely nothing to stop you on the way. Big pucker factor.

Back in the day before the bypass, I would have never taken the kids on the bridle track. That thing would have been a massive pucker moment for sure, especially in the 90's. I really need to head south to the vic high country.

took my mates getz threw here a few weeks ago after a bit of rain it’s just a dirt road
@DestinationOffroad9 ай бұрын
Nicely done, Getz are weapons on and off the road. But I can simple say, that it is more then just a dirt road. People that value the historic side of it would agree with me. Each to their own, Cheers Dave

Great informative vid bro. How busy does it get on the weekend?
@DestinationOffroad9 ай бұрын
Thank you. I did try and show as much of the track as possible. I have only just moved here, so I'll have to say maybe. To be honest, any one that has a rig could get there.

Bro thanks again for this video. Did the track last week with 2 other beginners. Was awesome 👍

Is it best to start the Bridle Track at Hill End side ??
@DestinationOffroad9 ай бұрын
Yes, personal preference for myself is to head to Sofala and then turn off to and head towards Hill End. It is an amazing loop. Dave

Can i bring my cattle dog along or is it national park?. Cheers mate great vid. Thinking of doing it in a few weeks. I've got aVW multivan which is all wheel drive with rear diff lock and hill descent. Looks like she's a nice trail
@DestinationOffroad9 ай бұрын
From what I ihave been told, you can bring your puppy. We just got back from camping on the track ourselves with our Furchild. Even the campsites in Hill End are dog friendly. In regards to the VW Multivan, hey if it has All Wheel Drive then I do not believe you would have a problem. We saw RAV4s, Klugers and Vitara. At the moment I wouldn't recommend it, as we just had a storm hit and the tracks would be slippery.
@Azazel5189 ай бұрын
Thanks heaps mate... any idea best place to check track conditions before heading out?..

Btw... took the van through what i thought was fairly shallow waters.. ended up with green water over the bonnet.. have to admit needed new underwear after that little adventure🫣

Yeah I have had that moment before. Was the first time take the Challenger out stock as a rock. There iis a Facebook page for the Bridle track. I can tell you now, it was rocky and ungrated. in the dry, it is a dust bowl, and in the wet, it can be slippery, especially the bipass and the climb to Hill End.

Pretty decent track. Can anyone without 4WD experience make it? I drive a 4wd

It is an amazing area. Summer time is amazing. Winter is where it is at, though.

But yes, you can easily see the track. At the moment. It has alot of water at the moment.

Thanks for that, will try to give it a go in autumn before it gets too cold.
