Around 2 -3 months ago my mother brought 4 babies chicks from tractor supply they all female and then the same day she brought 3 older chicks they probably 4-5 months or more from an lady who sell chickens but she told my mother that she could not tell if anyone was an rooster and that she can not return it that she know an African woman that buy and eat them so we though we have chicken but 2-3 months later I heard an rooster in the morning my mother did not hear it and say it just making an hen sound but the next day it did the same thing and this time my mother heard it this time and she call the African woman but my mother trade it for some fresh eggs because she was only going pay $10 and my mother spend $20 each for the chicken and my mother told the woman she brought it from and she let my mother get another chicken for free same color but this one have feathers on it feet… We lived in Georgia so my mother start her garden since COVID and now she got a lot of fruit tree and now she got chickens but her dream is to own an farm with an pond in the country and that would be wonderful for my son because he love looking at the chickens trying let them out from there chicken coop

Awesome that your mom is getting into raising her own food and animals! Don't pay that much for chickens in ga. I'm here as well, you shouldn't pay more than 8 a piece for a sexed female chick or 4-5 for an nonsexed chick. You can honestly get them much cheaper too especially if you buy 10 or more. And they should always have a return policy if they are supposed to be sexed

Also the reason they discard the rooster because they not profitable and as waste of time to raise

It's not so much the eating of meat that creates the suffering of animals. But the sheer greed for profit... Modern society seems civil on the surface. But if you look deeper. You will find your very own personal nightmare. :)

Greed for profit would still be here even if humans all became vegans
