|| THIS EPISODE || We had one last adventure in Glacier National Park, checking out sunrise at Lake McDonald. It was one incredible sendoff. After packing up and saying goodbye to all of our new friends at Glacier Bible Camp, we headed toward a state we have never even driven through before: Idaho.
After a night at a Walmart in Butte, we went to check out Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve, and we were not anticipating just how amazing this park was going to be! The entire park can be seen by driving the Loop Road and pulling off at the parking areas for each feature. All of the parking lots had room for RV parking! So you can explore with a bigger RV attached!
From the black, volcanic rock making up various domes to the lava tubes that are now caves you can wander through, Craters of the Moon blew us away. Boy Scout Cave was a bit snug for Jess’ liking! 😬 The hike back over the top of the hardened lava was spectacular.
Corey needed to edit and get a video posted, so we left to find some service. This was just another hidden gem that we hadn’t really heard much about and reminded us that we still have so much of this country left to see!
Stay tuned for the next episode where we head to Utah! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new videos!

During your travels through Idaho did you have any issues? I've seen reports that in the last year the people haven't been very friendly unless you are passing through and only stop for gas but that was for the northern part.

You are by far the most interesting rv living channel Ive watched so far. wish you posted more videos on the more daily life routine. How do your kids get along do they get bored what kind of home schooling are they in and how it works. The worst part for me is your videos are not long enough. and sorry to say your wife definitely is the talent in your video's. she just seems to have a easy going ability in front of the camera. keep them coming Cory take care.

Craters of The Moon is literally in my back yard! If you would have kept going West you would have went right through my home town of Richfield ID. Love that you guys thought the craters was so cool. We are so used to them but I still think "how amazing" every time I drive by there. The house my Mom grew up in (Shoshone ID) and the building that I have a bar in (Richfield) are both made of Lava rock which was a staple building material in the early settlement days of our area. We have a ton of lava tubes etc. in our area and the Shoshone Ice Caves is about 3 miles from where I lived as a kid. All worth seeing if your back in Southern Idaho. Have fun and safe travels! Those girls of yours will cherish these days forever...

One of our favorite national parks/monuments. So very fabulous! The caves are so much fun to do. My husband fits in Boy Scout but he scraped himself up a bit. Very tight! Doing the guided tour for both Indian cave and - don’t remember what it’s called....the big hill lol - is a ton of fun too. Lots of information from very personable young rangers. We have camped there first of August when it was 108 on the cave trail! It is so incredibly beautiful. It was good to see you guys showing how amazing that place is. One of the most underrated national monuments!

Oh I bet having a guide was really interesting! I can see it getting hot there, this was mid august . We would have felt the heat more had it not been so windy, although I’m guessing it’s usually windy! I agree very underrated, it actually makes me excited to find more places like it ! If this place goes unnoticed there must be 100s of others😃 thanks for taking the time to write !

We Love Caves! Been to Mammoth N.P. We spent a week there when our kids were little and I was able to hike and several years later I forget the name of the N.P. in West Virginia but we ended up making an over nighter last 3 days with all the Caves to hike. The great benefit of no time schedule and no cells back in the day as our 30 somethings say. I can't walk that kind of terrain any more but those Caves look fantastic. I love and cherish our early Travel Camping memories with our kids. The Popups we had had lots of miles and places to go to. Lots and lots of fun.

WOW ! Ya's were real brave climbing trough all those rough caves w/o any paths to walk on . . Years ago while visiting a friend in Radcliff Kentucky she took me to Mammoth Caves National Park . Some spots we had to bend over & side step aways on the paths . There wasn't any rock climbing like the caves y'all went in . Years before that her family & I had also gone to Squire Boon Caverns . Have Ya's ever gone to How Caverns in upstate New York & Ausable Chasms .Sand Stone Gorge near Keeseville New , York ? Have ya's ever been to Mt St Helens in Washington State ? It is an active stratovolcano . The day I was there decades ago we didn't get to see it as it was to foggy & rainy which added to the eriness .

Awesome. This may be my fave video you guys have made. You should look into the cave tours in silver dollar city, Branson Missouri. The cave there are insane. Huge. I want to say one area is big enough to fit the statute of liberty. Nice to see a big trailer explore. You're making us want to take our big girl out further. Have fun guys. :Nic

Just found your channel. Now binge watching from the beginning of your adventure. Great videos and drone footage. We have been lucky to visit many of the places you have. Now making us envious as we are still in lock down in the UK and not allowed to travel. Cannot wait to get back to the awesome USA 🇺🇸

South of Bend Oregon on HWY 97 there is a lava tube cave that at one point is directly below the highway and a lava field you can walk through as well as a cone that you can drive to the top of! It wouldn't be far from Crater Lake. We might stop at Craters on our way to the Tetons and Yellowstone this summer. Last time we stayed a little south at Twin Falls and checked out the waterfall and watched some crazy people base jump off the bridge over the canyon!

Arco that you drove through near the end, was the first town powered by nuclear generated electricity - as a testbed for a day... lots of early nuclear reactor work was done at locations out in that area, and new reactor types continue to be researched there... (I grew up straight south of Arco about 80 miles - the lava flows all the way down southern Idaho where the Snake River is... )
@FindingOurSomeday
@FindingOurSomeday 3 жыл бұрын
That’s amazing right!? We had a longer talk about the town of Arco in the first cut of the edit. Including the fact it was the first city powered by nuclear(so cool) and the graduating class years on the mountain side(also very cool) the video was just getting waaay to long so that was one of the things that got cut... so many things unfortunately don’t make the video 😕 an amazing landscape for sure!

Corey, the curbs are not likely actually "painted" black, but rather the concrete mix was probably the local materials, including the black volcanic rock, ground down to sand, thus imparting the black color to the concrete. Imparting color to concrete is really easy and much, much less expensive than painting it. Painting would require constant maintenance (especially in a harsh and very exposed environment), whereas imparting color to the concrete will keep the colored forever (or as long as the concrete lasts, anyways).
@FindingOurSomeday
@FindingOurSomeday 3 жыл бұрын
They “seemed” painted to me at the time . You’re right though it makes way more sense to have it be black throughout. Either way, it’s a well laid out park and I liked that detail. You have me curious now😃
