Bamboo grows once every 204,8 seconds . This means that by starting with 1 bamboo you can double the amount of bamboo you have every 204,8s by instantly harvesting and placing it. That means after 204,8s you have 2 Bamboo and after 409,6s you have 4 Bamboo. So you can say that you will have 1 * 2^n bamboo (with n standing for the cycles of 204,8s). 24 hours means that you have 24*3600 = 86400 seconds, which means you have 86400/204,8 = 421 cycles for the bamboo to grow. That means if you instantly harvest and place the bamboo, you will have 1 * 2^421 = 5,41 * 10^126 Bamboo after 24 hours.

Little reminder that with exponential growth, you actually aren't behind pace when you don't have half the amount at half time since every harvest will increase the amount of the next harvest (if you plant what you harvested, of course).

The real problem with exponential growth is keeping up with it, which he obviously didn't. He could probably do this in less than 12h if so much wasn't done manually.

Ok, so bamboo grows once every ~204 seconds. It is optimal to break the bamboo after it grows once so you can instantly replant the new bamboo. So the amount of bamboo you have is equal to 2^(t/204) where t is the time in seconds. So the hypothetical minimum (ignoring breaking and replacing and other problems) is ~1.13 hours but with this is unreasonable as it assumes the only time constraint is bamboo growth.

Like water streams to pick up the bamboos or bambo dupers or just mine carts under the bamboos to collect the items like in most sugar cane farms ! But you still managed to get a mil so well done ! Water stream between each lane to the chests. Or just burn it. And leave the bottom layer of bamboo so you don't need to re plant it. Dupe rails for a collection system under it. Bundle it while collecting it. Yeah you could have done it in like half the time lol

With allays, it would be possible to do this with the flying machine method leaving 1 bamboo on the bottom, only growing bamboo 2 blocks wide, with a 1 block gap row to run down, and potentially even make it a lane of hoppers into chests later in game when you have time to mine iron. The machine would cut it, the allays would bring it to you in a 5x5 square of hoppers, and you just stand there in the centre of the farms. But well done anyways and ir was a fantastic video!

Great vid man! Here is what I wouldve done diffrent: 1. Not harvest the bottom bamboo so I wouldent have to plant it all back 2. Craft the bamboo into bamboo wood while I was collecting it, so I wouldent have to go back to my storage all the time Still congrats! Guess we all tackle our problems in a other way :)

You can place hoppers carts on your flying machine, and make it a 4-way flying machine. Then you just need to empty the carts each iteration.

There could have been made a lot of changes that would have made your job 10x easier and faster. Like makeing the machines 1 block higher (I know that than there would be a nightmare to pick the banboo up but you can just make rows of 2 bamboos with 1 empty in between tham makeing it really easy to pick up. Also when brakeing it by hand hit it 1 block higher. With a minecart or a friend and a boat you wouldn't even need a machine to brake the banboo, just a trusty sword.
