Can you Forge Weld Copper?!!

Today I attempted to forge weld some copper, I managed to weld the copper on a fold over weld, however I could not get the scarf weld to work, I want to revisit this in the future to show a successful scarf weld using copper!

You need flux and if works much better. Without it the copper oxidizes quickly preventing a weld.

Thanks Robby, testing one out at the moment. There will be a few videos next month with hopefully improved audio (although may buy a better mic not convinced by the one I have!)

Never done any metal work but you think it's possible to forge weld bronze and steel?

@@oscarduck1920 Yes i know it was copper! I just got some weird idea of a bronze sword with a steel edge/core. Like a kopis but better Doubt it would be possible though

Look up the definition of welding. You CAN NOT weld 2 dissimilar metals together. Take a sheet of copper and try to weld or Melt it to a sheet of Steel. NOT GOING TO WORK! You may be able to braze or solder them together but weld NO. Next you will be trying to weld steel and aluminum together. I suggest you get a little education.
