Can you freeze fresh cream? I'll explain!

Hey guys,
I am back in the kitchen filming today - I know it's been a while! I'm making a fresh cream cake and I always end up having a little left over, so I thought I would explain how to freeze cream as it can be a tricky one!

haha that's so funny.. I would do the same thing!! Aww thanks so much.. yes double cream isn't available in the US but if you ever come to the UK you must try it! Baking is so much fun and therapeutic.. hope you get chance to bake something yummy soon ☺

Brilliant. So glad I can freeze home-made Whipped Cream! Funny about USA & UK CREAMS. We just finished building our UK home. We spent 6 months there & I was so confused about Single & Double Cream! I’m the States & use Half & Half for my a.m. coffee. Over there, I first tried double cream but it was so heavy & fatty. Then I mixed 1 container of single cream with 1 of whole milk 🥛. That was the perfect twin to USA’s Half & Half. It’s a bit messy too mix in those wide mouth containers, but it definitely works. Just think? If the UK starts trading with us, maybe Tesco will stock Half & Half? 😉 Now if only we could find larger bags of Crisps, like a pound of crisps-what we call “Chips”, there wouldn’t be so many small bags to toss in the bin.

Yay it is handy to know! That’s so funny about your cream incident.. I can imagine you were quite surprised when you tried double cream in your coffee 😆 It’s certainly very indulgent.. perhaps give whipping cream a go? It has a slightly lower fat content! And I would be surprised if they started selling half and half 🙃 I love a big bag of chips (or crisps as we call them here!).. they always teaser better from a big bag 😋 Thank you for watching

Hi there, you can freeze it but I don’t know that it would work in a cheesecake upon desfrosting. Is it a baked cheesecake recipe?

If it’s whipped cream it will be okay, however the consistency will change on defrosting so it will be best used for cooking/baking

You can freeze whipped cream, turn it into ganache, use it as a cake filling, add to a sauce.. lots of options

The best thing to do is use it for cooking instead, in a sauce for example.. it will be perfectly fine for that 😊

The cream is accumulated just like sour milk there is accumulation in cream as well It happened when I defreezed a pack of cream

Double or heavy cream will split when frozen and defrosted.. you can still use it for cooking but it’s no good for whipping

Hello! Sometimes things freeze in the fridge particularly if the temperature is set too low or if they are pushed to the back. Yes you can use it for cooking or make ganache!
