They most likely were also grading the position of the "Steven Universe" on the bottom of the card.

So when it comes to some signed cards I know the score is lowered by how much pressure the artist wrote their signature or how unevenly they wrote their name but not sure about the art itself, I’d guess the bleed would impact it.

what he's describing is pointilism/stippling, but i think the actual technique used on the card is some kind of spray like an airbrush, if u ever used one of those spray pens as a kid it could also be that

If they did this with Pokémon people would pay millions for them. Which is why now Pokémon TCG artists have stopped autographing cards or anything Pokémon related altogether. Thanks a lot ebay harpies.

they still autograph cards just not as much. for example at solo shows where the artists show original art they will usually refuse to sign cards, but if they're at a comic convention they will most likely sign them. also official regionals and worlds they will have signings (worlds 2024 they did a lottery system this time iirc.) they charge more and limit signatures tho to prevent scalping and harassment. hate what covid did to the hobby....

I think they can identify those signatures because the artists work with playing and trading card companies and they can probably find copies of the signatures to verify it. Like that Rory McQueen guy works with Garbage Pail Kids to do similar things.

If you like using command strips, I'd recommend getting their ledge shelves they make for photoframes and putting that up to display the cards on instead, the strip could probably damage the casing if you're not intensely careful in my opinion and I think it'd be a better idea to just put them together on that shelf!

you should crack a few and send them into becket grading since they still do sub grades so you can actually see how they are graded

cgc is still good for grading stuff nobody else will grade, but getting rid of subgrades has seriously been a downgrade. the perfect labels look cool tho and ig they're easier to get than a bgs black
