Such a fun idea! The girls at Ballet Reign will be disappointed that you didn't include Jemima Puddleduck, though. :)

Oh, that was fun! So different, and some ballets or parts we don't get to see so often. That grinning cat for Alice - what a sinister expression! :-)

I was surprised that I actually got all of them. The bear was so easy because lots of productions I've seen of Nutcracker has a bear, however our studio doesn't.

Haha to @ Ballet Quiz, this has to be the most marvellous 'Guessing Games Video' from you @ B Q ❤❤❤❤❤ and, haha again, . . . for all my boasting talk about 'Sylvia', I got it wrong! My other fave Variation is, The Parrot dance; and one where a young Batoeva (19 yrs old) and Frolova were performing, Thanks again @ Ballet Quiz ❤❤❤❤😊😊 and am smiling and grinning, I'll watch it again tonight!

Now at @ B Q, the 'Bear', . . With 'Boston Ballet Nutcracker Toy Dances', the BB's Second Soloist 'Lawrence Rines' performs the 'Bear' and Rines does the 'Side Splits' in the air! Rines plays the happy, sassy Bear; and he says it's it's an endearing & rewarding role indeed ❤❤❤! La Bayadère's 'The Parrot Dance' performed by Batoeva and Frolova and ten others, is very fun and lively, I love it, too ❤❤❤. Thanks at @ BQ ❤😊!

It's not really @ B Q, all am doing is, . . am studying classical ballet on my own, via the internet; and I try to learn everything to do with 'ballet'. One day perhaps I will join an 'Adult Classical Ballet Exercise Class', on a regular basis . . . even if it's going to be just for 'exercise' purposes only!

Some of those were from versions I'm not familiar with - I don't remember a bear in the Royal Ballet version of Nutcracker, for instance, and that's a very different version of the Cheshire Cat than the puppet in the Royal Ballet production. Some very fun things there, though, and I loved Jeremy Fisher at the end (though it must be horribly hot in those masks/costumes!).

That's a very good point! Some productions are very unique to a country, like the bear only appears in the United States. Thank you for watching and commenting ❤️ 🙏

Well done and thank you very much for watching and playing! I didn't know about the bear either! Apparently it has been done since 1967, in California, Boston and San Francisco (that I know of)

A los q nos gusta el ballet muchísimo vemos siempre q se agregan o se sacan variaciones de otros ballets. Pero este oso fue una sorpresa en el Cascanueces. Gcias x las información nunca lo asocie con el.

The parrot means only the colour (blue) in this case. You can watch the Blue Bird's variation from The Sleeping Beauty in this quiz. As I suppose, the Bear's dance is in definite staging of The Nutcracker (sorry, I don't know the choreographer of this staging & can guess the ballet due to the music)

@Natalia-xo4hv Thank you so much for watching and for your comment 😊 The bear in the Nutcracker is an American thing, it's being done in San Francisco and Boston

This was a lot of fun, indeed ! , and there were some things I didn't know (such like the goat dance or the parrot dance). Actually, for the butterfly (twice!) I was expecting Le Papillon (but this was probably too obvious because of the title). There is just something I felt confusing is the bear. I swear I have never seen any production for this music piece in the Nutcracker, this was originally the soldier and the vivandiere, but got later mostly interpreted as the "moor's dance" (as seen especially in Russian stagings, probably inspired by Petrushka), but perhaps some productions have replaced this to avoid racial stereotypes. By the way, the current Nutcracker at Stuttgart Ballet does even replace most of the dances of Nutcracker Act 2 through animals (such like squirrles or a camel). And yes, Tales of Beatrix Potter, I was waiting for that eagerly (;

Hi there! Thank you so much for watching and adding your feedback! I didn't know about the bear either! I discovered it as I was making the video. Apparently, some productions have it as a toy. I'm very glad you enjoyed the video 😊❤

@@BalletQuiz I see yiour point, though it felt a bit odd for me, as all other things were more famous examples, and are mostly known as such. I just wish you could have pointed it out that it's not in all productions...(I have been thinking a bit, and there are also other Nutcracker versions sometimes smuggling animals into it...But I'm more familiar with the European versions and not so much with American productions. And things can be always interpreted differently - there's even a Chinese version of The four little swans as "Frog Dance" (; Perhaps you could do someday a quiz on unsual ballet interpretations (; )...other "classic" examples getting to my mind are Grasshoppers and dragonflies from Cinderella, the monkey from La Fille du Pharaon and Von Rothbart as bird of prey in Swan Lake. But yeah, it's better probably to explore a bit than doing a fourth time Sleeping Beauty with the wolf (;

It is not the parrot dance but the Blue Bird dance. The "Moor dance" was in the original production of The Nutcracker, it was not inspired by Petrushka of M. Fokine
