This was such a fun, great idea! I only confused nr.9 , but I was not closing watchly enough because I was a bit thinking too much of other magical ballet creatures, while watching! Apart from this, I got everything. I really love how magical ballet stories are and you picked such a wide range of ballets; also ballets I've never seen your quiz before. I think I've heard of all these ballets (well, I didn't know about the Aladdin adaption), but it was very intriguing to see clips from them. I was a bit confused with "Naiad" (I know it as "Ondine ou la naiade", but I recognized it). Somehow I was expecting that magical creatures would be more only in older ballets, so it was interesting how many rather modern ballet versions you included. I think there is still part 2 possible (it's actually a pity that so many romantic magical ballets aren't existing with clips as they aren't performed anymore or so rarely, such like La Peri, Le Papillon...).

I agree, both about a part two, and about what a shame we can't see all those old ballets. That said, Ballet Quizzes is really good at finding obscure ballets. I seem to remember a clip from Papillon on one of these quizzes? Perhaps one quiz could contain all the rarest ballets to be found on video!

@@kxs7267 It's nice to hear that you also like vintage ballet! I've been learning so much about romantic ballet because of my Swan Lake research (I'm also trying novelization project...), and I did also two playlists on my channel here with romantic ballet "TOP underrated romantic ballet music" and "romantic ballet". Perhaps something can also appear someday here in the quizzes (; . Still, there's so much harder to get. I found clips from Taglioni's Le Lac des fees only on the Europeana website (but sharing the link didn't work....), and some ballets only exist as vintage photos/illustrations...I love these a lot (I did also a padlet board with them), perhaps such a vintage photo/picture quiz could work (;

@@felicity1877 youtube does that sometimes, I've had it happen too. It doesn't like links and certain keywords, but apart from that it's very random...

That is true and the idea of rare ballets is also great!

You scored a hit again. :-) I lost track of my score, I was too involved watching the dances. Still on the lookout for those ballet stories - I have so many dancers' biographies and (fewer) technique books, but no stories...

Thank you ! It's very interesting to dive into ballet stories 😊

@@BalletQuiz I just found one: the Faber Pocket Guide to Ballet. It doesn't have all the ballets you've shown here, but it's a good start. I'll enjoy dipping into it!

Number 9 was frustrating, not because of the dancers or anything, but because the music ALMOST lined up with the countdown timer, but not quite! Once I noticed it, I couldn't stop noticing it! Other than that, great quiz as usual.

Haha I didn't notice that while making it, it probably would have annoyed me too 😜 Thank you 🙏❤

I rightly guessed seventeen pieces, . . however I can't quite place Aladdin, Walpurgis Night Satyr Variation, and Naïad, ballets. I love Obraztsova's ' Satanella ❤ and I remember her most for her 'Cupid' variation, . . she's light, she floats and she's quite gorgeous ❤! Thanks @ B Q, for this very nice compilation video ❤😊.

Obraztsova is amazing, and so is Somova as a Dryad, she practically flies! Thank you so much for watching ❤❤❤

Очень интересная подборка! Очень впечатлил балет Дракула! Кто хореограф и композитор данного балета? И что за балет 19. а folke tale? Спасибо!!!❤❤❤
@BalletQuiz6 ай бұрын
Thank you! So, the first Dracula ballet was presented in 1997 by the Houston ballet. The music was by Liszt and the choreography by Stevenson. But it seems that each ballet company uses its own music and choreographer. A Folk Tale is a much older ballet (1854) from Denmark, choreography by Bournonville and music by Hartmann

@BalletQuiz6 ай бұрын
Merci! C'est deux ballet différents mais basés sur le même œuvre de Shakespeare. La musique est de Mendelssohn mais les chorégraphies sont différentes. "The dream" est de Ashton et le "A Midsummer Night's Dream" est de Balanchine
