Fun fact I learned from the AC/DC rig rundown: apparently during the recording of Back in Black Angus Young discovered he liked his sound with his wireless better, because his wireless system was putting out a hotter signal and was effectively functioning like a preamp.

Yes. And it also gave a little compression and therefore sustain as well.

This month I bought the same wireless system (Lekato WS-80) and liked it a lot while playing heavy and drive tones. But yesterday I became very disappointed when try to test it with my Boss GT 1000 Core’s acoustic patch. It makes a terrible his and buzzing noise at the end of each stroke. Also the sound quality is very bad with these clean/acoustic tones even if you stand 1 feet apart from the receiver. Test it again and again with other clean tones but nothing has changed. Then I searched on KZbin and find myself here. Thanks for the review. Yes you’re right they are far from the quality of a cable sound. You can only get this quality product for this money

I’ve had a Lekato WS-60 for about six months. IMHO it’s been brilliant but helped no-end by a buffer at the front of the pedal board. I’ve not used it live because, well, pestilence, but for home use I love it.

I have two X-Vive wireless systems I use all the time. Almost never use a cable. No one could differentiate when the band is playing anyway, and they provide great mobility. No tripping, no tangles, no cable yanked out of the pedal board. Additionally, the physical break between the guitar and amp (or board or DI box) eliminates ground loops and other noise artifacts that may be heard through a direct connection. I have used them almost entirely exclusive of cables for about three years, in the studio, on gigs, with effects pedals and direct into the Tascam.

Thoughtful topic! I've used wireless systems throughout the years and I currently have a Lekato 5.8 Ghz. I love it! Great for no-fuss bedroom practice, keeps my workspace tidy, and I can easily swap out between amps and audio interfaces without getting tangled up. The signal is quite clear, really indistinguishable from my everyday Ernie Ball cables. I think the wireless band being used is the most important factor in choosing a system, the more obscure the band, the less interference. The 2.4 Ghz ones I've used by mid-grade or cheaper manufacturers suffer from interference with majority of consumer electronics, pretty much all my bluetooth devices in the house and all the mobile phones around me using the ISM bands. I've yet to try the "road-worthy" ones like the Sennheisers and Shures, but I'm assuming they would be pretty rock solid since you can choose your own frequency band to transmit in.

I use an XVive wireless guitar system and I don’t hear much of a difference between it and a cable. The wireless system is more convenient than the cable.

I think you can change the channel on the one you have like all of them if you hearing any fizzy noise you change the channel.. A lot of people say the 2.4 and the 5.8 are either hit or miss depending on your situation around you and your house That's why you have to have a couple of sets of these type a 2.4, a 5.8, and a UHF UHF is the best.. In the UHF you can change channels so easily and there's so many of them.. The best ones are 5.8 or even better the UHF ones there's one made by Swift audio call the WS50 or Westlake same company I think the company is Westlake but they have a brand called Swift audio. It works fantastic you can't hear any difference..

I love wireless but I just play at home and that's what the cheaper ones are geared to.If that company really thought that price range system was going to be used by gigging musicians they are insane.Im sure they know it's for someone like me.

I don’t like the ones with a wireless receiver that you have to charge. I like ones with a receiver box of some sort with power cable

In my experience with an electric guitar, a cable provides a better bottom, bass and lower mids. That being said, some units are better than others with the frequency range response. Mostly, you get what you pay for.

wireless for me isnt gimmick i think this is really good for guitars with noisy pickups and it reduces it or a grounding issue

i just got a joyo (basically the identical version of this lekato) and it makes an incredible amount of white noise. it works great as far as sound transmission, and i even expected a little bit of noise from it... but this is so much white noise unless you're playing super loud, you hear it while you're playing. I'm running it from a Gretsch Rat Rod, TC Polytune pedal, and a Boss OD-3 overdrive and through an Acoustic 40w amp. Not the best of gear but swapping out for even a cheap cable (New Bee or GLS) completely eliminated the noise. I almost sent the OD-3 back (got it for Christmas) because it seemed to only be there when the overdrive was on, but as i played around with it, i found the white noise was still there and the OD-3 was amplifying the noise. IDK, maybe a 5.8Ghz will be better, not sure I care enough to send it back and try something else at this point. why fix was isn't broken... i was just thinking i could set my amp up in the corner of the room with my pedal board, set everything then i could sit on my couch and diddle without someone tripping on my cable.

The white noise is interference… try changing channels, or a different frequency system. 2.4 vs 5.8 vs UHF vs 900mhz

@@norfolknwhey4787@norfolknwhey4787 so those are the 4 channels it has? I have to do this from time to time with mine since they make some sort of vibrato effect.

@@jeffjarquin3570 yeah, when I hook mine up and it has any interference sound, I just cycle to the next channel and it fixes it.

A couple of years ago I bought a very inexpensive wireless similar the one shown in this video. Unfortunately it interfered with nearby WiFi networks both at my home and in venues so I had to return it. I think the high end systems are better but I’m not in a place to need or afford one.

It seems like you may have pulled a few punches there at the end...... Sponsored Videos.... you still have to keep it 100% real... I've never seen anyone play wireless at a gig with a $39.00 set up. LOL is the new studio everything you were hoping?

I regularly use a $40 5.8mhz system for busking and bar/small venue gigs. I’ve only had to cycle thru channels once due to interference, and I almost always have someone come up to me during set break asking make/model/price of my wireless. I could probably make a small fortune selling them at shows lol
