Cool! I like you use the great circle for your rhumb line as well as the progress between check ins…..of course the wife will enjoy the “when are we gonna be there?” Estimate 😂

Nice app... will definitely get it for IOS. Query...VMC? should be VMG, which as you say is 'Velocity Made Good' 😊

Hi Peter! I've flip-flopped between VMG and VMC but currently it's VMC in this beta. There is some sailing opinion that VMG should only refer to progress relative to the direction of the true wind. And so instead we should all be saying "Velocity Made Good on Course" - so VMC - when we're talking about closing on a waypoint of some kind. I had never thought about the distinction until someone mentioned it to me this year. :)

It looks like a interesting app. Would it be possible to activate an automatic logging entry at pre sett intervals, like every day at noon perhaps. Or maybe even every hour ? Another idea is that I would love to be able to generate a printable file of the map with the track on it with your log points marked. Perhaps with a corresponding list below them map holding the date, time and distance. Best regards from Jarle

Good input, thank you. Preset intervals will work. It could be every hour (13:00,14:00) or it could be always one hour after a manual log entry. So if you record a change of course at 13:15, an automatic entry would appear at 14:15 and so on. This would only happen if the app was in the foreground, without adding extra permissions, but maybe that's okay. A printable log file sounds nice too. But maybe by exporting the CSV to a separate app that can do that, just to keep this app simple

I have been thinking about the 24-hr distance logging. At the moment the log has too many events in it to make it easy to work out the 24-hr distance easily. Maybe we need a special '24-hr' log entry each day that we can measure between
