Apparently the answer is yes, and quite well! Awesome day sessioning jumps in the forest with Braden and Laura. Took me a long time to work my way up to this jump line on the Sight so I'm incredibly pleased that I was able to roll through without trouble on the Revolver. And that OSR lap, holy jamoly that looked fast on camera...10th overall with some traffic is cool with me. Time for the stump jump next time Laura... ;) Enjoy!

Short travel bikes jump extremely well, mostly because of the progression and just the "pop" created. I was doing 1 ft jumps to a 25 ft road gap, I learned everything on my Tallboy. Short travel bikes are under-rated.

I was there yesterday, perfect conditions but didn't ride my compulsory OSR lap. I have failed. Question about the jump line. I sessioned the first two jumps on Ridgeline a bunch (the longer step down to step up-ish gap), then the first three jumps on Flow Rider. If I'm comfortably landing the third jump on Flow Rider, would you say I'd be good for the rest of the jumps in the line as well? Except maybe the last stump gap, which seems bigger. I did pause at each briefly as I made my way down, it's just hard to tell when you haven't hit them before.
@DaleStone
@DaleStone 3 жыл бұрын
The stump line you have to pedal hard into, otherwise you're ready for some natural progression through the rest!

Are you worried about long-term durability/fatigue damage hitting those sizes of jumps? Obviously, the bike hasn’t snapped yet, but those jumps are surely outside of the design envelope, right? I’ve got an XC bike myself and am worried about pushing its limits too hard and for too long, especially since it’s aluminum (fatigue is a bigger issue).
@DaleStone
@DaleStone 3 жыл бұрын
Excellent question. There's definitely a massive benefit in fatigue strength moving to a full carbon frame, enough that I'm not even slightly worried about a carbon-related fatigue failure. For ultimate strength, a jump trail (excuted correctly) sees very low forces, often nowhere near bottoming out. Where I would feel uncomfortable on this bike would be pushing hard on trails like Lower Oilcan, Ned's, Severed, or in the bike park. XC bikes ride this knife edge at speed, and deviating from that could result in loads exceeding the intended use for sure. Thankfully my body is weaker than this bike, so you'll be unlikely to see me charging down those on this. 🙂

Honestly Dale, I think it's holding you back man, you're spending way too much time in the air instead of getting those wheels right back on the ground :-D I think Norco has to be paying you to ride that thing, because "we all know" that no one would voluntarily ride an "XC" machine like that on those trail :-p Seriously, sweet one, keep these "XC" rides coming. Not a fan or jump/bermed trails, but those seem to appeal to me, especially the OSR, no time to blink, have to be on your game for that one if you're cranking it.
