Well, hey-howdy, fellow Texan! 🤠 I’m north of Austin! We launder alike! For decades I have washed my knit & crochet items in AllFree✅ (or similar), in zippered delicates bags✅, in cold or cool or tepid water✅ on “hand wash” or “delicates” cycles✅ of my washing machine. Then I dry them in the dryer on lowest temp, & sometimes finish with “air fluff”. Works great for me, too! 🤩

Hi Serfronya, Thanks for taking us along to experience washing the finished handmade items. I think that there would be more problems with natural fiber yarns bleeding and fading during washes. I also use the gentle cycle and bags. It is refreshing to see that the stitching and shape of the items remained intact. Great information. Thanks again for sharing😀

Can they be dried, too? Did you dry in the dryer? flat?

Hello sweet lady! I've made 4 hats on my sentro machine! So far I've figured out it does not like overdyed yarn and it does like one color yarn.

@Jennifer Bruce Yay! That's great to hear. And yes, I find it to be hit or miss with variegated yarns on the Sentro.

Hi Serfronya good to see you online again. Been wondering if you were okay in S.A. TX. I am surprised and pleased to see that the reds didn't bleed. I would have never put a solid red in a load with light colors unless it was striped with a lighter color and then I use the color catcher sheets. I haven't made a thing but I sure have been buying. Have a good one. God Bless and keep You

I was wanting to see how the faux fur poms came out from the dryer. What happens to the yarn poms in the dryer? Do they come apart or what?
@YarnChecker3 жыл бұрын
Good question Judy. My store bought faux fur poms have always done just fine in the dryer. They come out fluffy.

I’ve washed plenty of my handmade hats with faux fur poms, and I’ve had no issue with the poms themselves. But nearly every time I’ve had the poms get a bit looser on the hat, and I have to fix it

Thanks for the video. I don’t hand wash. I use those bags you use and the same detergent putting some things on delicate cycle. I need to buy more of those bags, I have one.🙄

Make a blanket/afghan on the sentro!

Hi Luke, it's good to hear from you! That sounds like a great project but I can't honestly say that I will pursue that. I love crocheting blankets. But for whatever reason, on the knitting machine I enjoy quick projects that work up quickly. But please let me know if you make one.

@@YarnChecker Alright, I understand. I can’t crochet to save my life haha. And I was hoping to try and make a small blanket on my sentry but can’t find any good tutorials really. Maybe I’ll just have to wing it haha.
