Can you make a clock face in LightBurn using variable text?

Making a clock face in LightBurn is relatively easy when using the circular array function. How can we make it harder yet cooler at the same time? Use the variable text features within LightBurn! There are two methods I am going to review. One is using the serial number option. The other is using the merge/csv option. The merge feather actually seems to have benefits if you are going to make clock faces more than once or twice.
To create a file you can merge into LightBurn, use any program that will allow you so save in a plane text format. I use Notepad on a Windows computer. You can also use a spreadsheet program such as Excel and save your column of text/numbers as a CSV formatted file which is a plane text, Comma Separated Value file.

Thanks for this info. I followed your instruction...everything works...except...my numbers count backwards. Tried creating the text file, excel file...still backwards. Cant figure out what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks! P.s. New Subscriber.

Without seeing your project, I am going to guess that the offset is backwards. Each number object will have an offset to know how far down your list it needs to go for its value. If you rotated your array counter clockwise, the offset would be backwards. Check your 1 O'Clock position to see if it has an offset of 1 or 11. The offset should be 1 so that it gets the second value from your list (which is zero based so the first element is item zero). I hope this helps. Thank you for subscribing! Go Vols!! That's pretty neat but you didn't show how you made the files to do the clock face with different numbers. Can you show how that was done?

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. After working with computers for 48+ years, there are things that are so basic for me that I forget to talk about them. The file is a simple text file and I created it using Notepad on a windows computer. Any program that will write a basic text file will work. You can also use a spreadsheet program such as Excel where you would create a column of numbers/text and save it as a CSV file. I will add something about that into the video description.

@@CNCATHome What you said is all new to me. I don't have Excel but I have windows 10, don't know how to get to the Notepad. I'm 76 and not to COMPUTER SAVEY.

@@karlriley1314 - No problem. There are a couple easy ways to get to Notepad. One is by pressing the windows key and type notepad. That should come up with the application you can click on. The other, which is what I frequently do, is to press the windows key + R. This will provide a run dialog where you can type in a command. In this case, type in notepad and press enter. That will bring up the notepad program. You can create your text file and when you are done, make sure to save it somewhere you have easy access. 🙂
