I freaking love your honesty, you are not giving people false hope, you are being realistic. This is what people need. I love that so much... As someone who had no choice but to turn to reselling because of a disability - from the bottom of my heart: Thank you.

Not only are stores asking for more, so is eBay. Dynamic Promoted Listing fees in an already saturated clothing market are only going up. Be glad you've got content creation on KZbin and Patreon.... Thanks for keeping it real. Viewers need more honesty!

I feel that way about everything not just clothes. Thrift stores, on-line auctions, estate sales, ect. Everyone asking higher prices than they used to. I loved resealing, now I just work a regular job. Not even fun anymore. Although!! You make me reconsider based on your math but I’m not 100% convinced. I have been watching you for a long time and trust you as a source and appreciate you.

San Diego/Chula Vista has amazing thrift store opportunities! Lots of half-off the store days, lots of small stores as well as the big ones. Yes, prices are up a bit, but not as much as shown here. Typical prices I’ve seen for a shirt is $6.99 - $7.99 or so for the higher end ones.

Im able to kill it at my Goodwills in So Cal with the unllimited 20% off coupon and the 60 day return policy, especially the more expensive goodwills that my competition run from, i dont even look at prices anymore because my average cost of goods will be low at the end of the day, There are still cheap goodwills out here with 3.99 shirts, 5.99 button ups, 6.99-8.99 jeans. Good luck out there people!

It's definitely possible the key is not being lazy. I source for 20 different categories but I still am only grabbing a small fraction of what a thrift store has. Yesterday at just one Goodwill I found 26 items within an hour. I'm fortunate to have several Goodwills and a Flea market so I can stack those fractions. Clothing is a very small portion of my business and based on what I see sourcing I would have to double the amount of time to find enough items.

Good info. I hate the videos "sell these if you want to make 100K+" and they show you some heavily embroidered Jnco jeans, Affliction hoodie and a vintage Coogi sweater, with a few Rohback polos and some Mother jeans to round it out. Might as well throw in a couple beta Black Lotus as well. I have started blocking all those bs channels with the shocked faces and blurred out items on the thumbnails.

Thrift route is very difficult. You really have to get stuff directly off the new rack to get the top shelf items. Everything mid tier is too overpriced to make money at 15-25 dollar items. I’m still making 2-3k (50 asp) a month on the side thrifting but basically I only go and wait for new racks, and check high profit categories very quickly every day. 100k profit I would definitely run out of items to source.

@davidc45824 ай бұрын
@@yvnginfinity I’ve been in this business for 7 plus years now and have made net over 120k the past 3. Thrifting is just part of my business. Just pointing out the obvious. If you can’t see it you haven’t been doing this long enough. Can’t hit those tiny thrifts as often. They don’t replenish every day. Then you still have same problem of mid tier items making up most your store. Still possible to make good money it’s just way different than it used to be.

Wow! Thanks for your honesty. I so wanted to apply to that Online Store position I saw on Craigslist...but I just could not figure out how to make it work in my head and I hate being unable to hit my targets. I couldn't tell if I was making excuses or not. But it's true; the thrift prices are high, the supplies are low. Even the bins in South City are completely different (mostly throwaway pick throughs after Goodwill has already sorted for in store). Oakland bins are just okay. Out of the closet in SF and Oakland are just okay. Salvation Army sales are great, but once again the clothing is just mediocre now. Goodwill is fine, but you will have to hover for hours as they slowly roll out racks. I feel a little less crazy thinking the game is completely different (in the Bay Area at least) now after watching this video. 😪😅 There ARE a few things I've never tried before...like bulk buying at the bins (maybe $50/box) and seeing if it's worth it.

Some thrift places are funny. "We will start pricing things higher to stick it to the resellers" re-sellers start catching it all at the bins for .50-.60/lb or catching it on 70% off day etc. getting AMAZING bargains on stuff. Depends from thrift to thrift. I'm a garage sale kind of guy. Especially when you get a sale where they actually want to get rid of the stuff. .50 jeans etc. brand don't matter. They just want it gone.

people need to move away from clothing/ i dont sell clothing i sell parts and get all my inventory of market place, offerup etc/ my average asp is between $25 -50/ - as the economy gets worst and things get more saturated people are gonna have to get creative/ I haven’t been to a good will in 2 months now - my advice -look for something people aren’t doing and do that - dont always go for the low hanging fruit lol

You should sell in the category that you have the most knowledge of. Personally I am an expert in womens fashion and the fashion industry so I do best in that category. People who don't do well with clothing are not experts in fashion. They don't have an eye for style and they don't know brands.

I wouldn't be able to make a living off of reselling at all. I don't have the space or budge to buy thousands of items. It's turned into a side hustle for me now. I make money from reselling but not enough to live off of.

Seems to me it's even worse than that. Yes, 15 items need to be sold each day. But he's implying listing 15 items per day. The two are not equal. Assuming a 10% per day sell through per day. So wouldn't you need to list 150 items per day and at a 10% sell through you reach 15 items actually sold per day.
