Just found your channel, binge watching, can’t get my own work done and I don’t care. 🙏 for sharing your thoughts and content.

That's some great looking mulch and dirt. Nice grove.

This is what I'm doing with our 24 avo trees. The entire area covered with mulch: leaves,grass cutting, small branches, a few large branches and LOTS of wood chips. As you said they love it. Thx for the video

I've noticed you don't use shade cloth, and your trees look great!

These trees do look great, but I get no credit: They're not mine. They're in a friend's grove in Ventura County.

Greg...If you have to pick 5 avocado trees for your small back yard...what would them be ?
@gregalderdotcom9 ай бұрын
For MY yard only, they would be Reed, Hass, Gwen, then maybe Lamb and Nowels (as of my experience up to today). This is for near year-round fruit and reliable productivity in my yard's conditions. I would have no B types because they don't produce reliably here. (I had thought Nowels was a B type because that's what some literature says, but my observations of its flowers this spring are showing that it is an A type. Now I understand why it produced so well last year!)

Hi Greg. Thanks for all your videos. A little off topic but I was wondering what your thoughts are of planting a rose bush near an avocado tree. We have a raised bed and are looking to fill in some empty space around the tree and was wondering what your thoughts are. I wanted to put other pollinators like lavender but my wife wants roses I'm just curious if The roots will compete if they are about 6 to 7 ft from the trunk of the avocado.

Whats an avocado that keeps a high canopy from deer? I want to plant an avocado tree that I can remove a deer fence when its tall enough and doesn't have a skirt of low leaves.

Many varities can be trained to be upright, Reed Bacon and Steward are naturally very upright, I've trained my JB on a single trunk and Hass grows fairly upright, as does Ettinger. Avoid Holiday, Wurtz, Pinkerton, Sir Prize, and probably Lamb and GEM. Hope this helps
