Can you paint a radiator with Hammerite? (White to grey radiator transformation)

Any suggestion why I may have faced the following problem? For some reason.. My hammerite paint didn't go on smooth. So on the second coat I decided to heat it up. Still it didn't go on smooth. Left with streaks all over my radiator. It was the smooth finish Hammerite aswell. Gold colour.

Hi Umair, we would advise using really thin coats and building it up layer by layer. it may take four or even 5 coats but this is the best way to achieve a smooth finish. Also ensure you are mixing the paint really well before applying

I have drip when I paint the radiator what should I do

I would sand the drips out and then re paint. This time using less paint on the brush to avoid drips

A few, but its not too bad at all to be honest. The only way I can think to avoid brush marks entirely would be to spray the paint, which I think would work as the Hammerite Ultra is quite thin

I think Hammerite do sell a spray version for at least some of their rad paint 🙂 B&Q have stopped selling it by the way but Wickes do stock it as well as online.

the tin we got was 1 litre and we used very little. I would say the 1-litre tin would cover at least 5 radiators of a similar size to the one we did.
